Just like a brother.

We finished up swimming in the pool and decided to go out for dinner together. So I went up to our apartment to get ready and meet James outside in an hour. I walked in the apartment and mum was just sitting there staring at the blank blue wall. "mum I'm going out for dinner with a friend I should be back later okay?"

"yeah sure sweety thats fine"

"you sure your gonna be okay mum?"

"yeah, yeah I'll be fine dont worry about me, I might go back in and see dad. I'll call you when I leave though."

"okay then"

I walked into my bedroom and jumped in the hot shower. I got out quickly and turned on my hair straightener to heat up while I blow dried my hair. I did my hair and left it out drooping on my shoulders. I walked into my walk in wardrobe and grabbed out my black pleated short skirt and my red singlet with a black cardigan. I put it all on an grabbed a pair of heels from my collection in the top cupboard. Half of my shoes where heels though. I grabbed a black medium height pair with brown heels. I slipped them on and grabbed my brown leather handbag. I quickly checked my phone and realised that I was running late.

"okay bye mum"

"bye honey"

I walked over to the elevator and went down and walked outside to where James was standing outside.

"so James Camaron where are we going to eat?"

"there is a pizza place around the corner, but down worry your not too over dressed. You would probably be kicked out if you rocked up in flip-flops and a t-shirt. It's a formal place you know."

"hahahaha! Sounds good then"

We walked around to the pizza place and sat down at a table in the corner of the room.

"so Ashley, what's been happening in your life?"

"not much really"

"where we're you today when you said you may not make it home in time?"

"oh I was at the hospital"

"oh my goodness Ashley I everything okay?"

"yeah not really dad was in a car accident this morning and he is in a medically induced coma and they can't predict when he will wake up"

"is he going to be okay, like will he live?"

"they dont know yet, but i don't want to talk about it here cause I might end up crying infront of all of these people and that would be embarrassing now wouldn't it?"

"haha! I guess so"

My phone rang in my bag. I pulled it out and it was mum ringing.

"I'm sorry James I really gotta take this it's mum."

"oh yeah sure take your time"

"okay thanks"

I walked outside and answered my phone.

"hey mum what's up?"

"not much I'm about to leave home now to go to the hospital and I'm gonna stay here over night. I left a note on the bench about what's happening tomorrow, is that okay?"

"yeah sure mum that's fine"

"okay we'll I better go now darling"

"okay mum love you"

"love you too sweety"

I hung up the phone and walked back inside.

"what was that about?"
