when the line of your smile hooks me and reels me in,

i know that smile is for me.

your cute little confusion reminds me of those dog-eared pages;

and the warm honey dripping down my throat,

wondering if the moon would fall from the sky

if i ever fell for you.

but it stayed put and it disappeared sometimes,

then the mustard flooded the earth as people sat on their rooftops and watched,

as salt and vinegar chips dried our lips,

and as i watched, i'd known i loved you.
