For as long as I can remember, the only people that really mattered in the world was Hachi and I. No one else could compare to Hachi, for he was the only one reason I had to live. Therefore, we shut the world out. We didn't want anyone getting too close. All we really needed was each other. We were twins, after all.
I was the older twin. Even though I'm only 3 minutes older, I still felt the need to treat him like he was much younger. He wasn't immature but he wasn't exactly mature either. I, on the other hand, was the mature one. I wanted him to be better than me, that's all I wanted for him and well, he was better for me. I was okay with that, that was all I ever really wanted anyway.
Hachi was practically perfect in my eyes. His golden eyes (which weren't that different than my own) had a certain twinkle that I didn't have. His smile was always bright, no matter the situation he was put in. He was good at almost everything; singing, dancing, dressing up, doing makeup, cooking, and more. I tried hard not to be envious.
"Nana, have you seen my leather jacket? I can't find it anywhere," Hachi walked in. "Have you checked under your bed?" I suggested. He crawled under the bed and grabbed his leather jacket. "How did you know?" I shrugged. "I'm a psychic." He put his jacket on and turned to me. "Are you ready to go yet?" I laughed. "I've been ready for the past hour." I stood up and looked in the mirror. "You take a while to get ready, Hachi." He rolled his eyes. "Come on. I just want that strawberry milkshake from Squidbeak Cafe we always get," he said with a smile.
"Yeah, coming."

It was a cute little cafe. Pink and green decor was everywhere. Pink vases with green plants, posters of the Squid Sisters, pink and green tiled floors, green tables and pink booths. The workers wore green polo shirts with pink tags on them. I liked the whole aesthetic to the place. It was cozy.
Hachi and I sat down at the booth we always sat at; the one closest to the door. My twin brother stared at the window, waiting for a waiter or waitress to approach our table. I watched as an Inkling girl walked up to our table. I couldn't help but stare.
She was beautiful.
She definitely had her flaws but every flaw made her look even more beautiful. She had a cute baby face with eye bags under her red eyes. The girl was almost a foot shorter than me. Her long green tentalocks was pulled back into a ponytail. Freckles were sprawled across her cute, tired face. I looked at the name on her pink tag. 'Sango'.
She chuckled. "Take a picture, it'll last longer," she said with a small smirk. I felt my face heat up. "O-Oh, sorry. Uh," I stuttered. "Can I get a strawberry milkshake? An extra straw would be nice too," Hachi said with a sweet smile. Sango nodded and wrote on her notepad that was in the shape of a squid. "Will that be all for you two?" she asked. Hachi nodded. She smiled and oh cod, that smile was breathtaking. "Coming right up." Her voice was soothing and calm, yet carefree.
"Drool much?" Hachi snickered. I blushed. "What are you talking about?" He scoffed. "What am I talking about? Jeez, Nana. You were totally checking her out," he snickered. "I was?" He nodded. I furrowed my eyebrows. I refused to stare at her again. "Oh, please. I would never let anyone into our little world, Hachi." He chuckled. "Someone is gonna break the barrier eventually. Don't forget that," he said as Sango gave us our milkshake. "Enjoy. Just holler my name if you need anything," she said with a smile. Hachi looked at the tag on her shirt. "Sango. Will do, Sango."
Hachi took a sip from the strawberry milkshake and sighed with satisfaction. "Just as amazing as usual." I took a sip and smiled. I looked at the window. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the Jellies were out and about, and Inklings were running to Deca tower to turf. The bell on the door rung. A yellow Inkling walked in.
"Sango!" she called. Her voice was mischievous. The green Inkling walked out of the kitchen and groaned when she saw the girl. "What will it be this time, Your Royal Highness?" The Inkling laughed. "Well, I was going to ask you if you wanted to go to band practice today." Sango scoffed. "Two person bands never go well, Shi," she said. "Oh, come on, Sango! You're an amazing drummer," the yellow Inkling called Shi claimed . "Let me know when we have a vocalist," the shorter Inkling said with a chuckle. A groan escaped the Inkling girl's lips. "Am I not good enough?" Sango snickered. "You have more of a back up singer's voice."
A flick on my head from Hachi was all it took for me to look away. "Huh?" He chuckled. "You were staring." I frowned, mentally scolding myself and going in for another sip but realized Hachi already finished it. He gave me a smile. I rolled my eyes but smiled. "Check, please," he called over. "I'll be right with you," Sango said, shooing Shi out of the cafe. "See you at practice," she hollered before closing the door. "I'm sorry about that. I'll get you guys that check in just a moment," she said with a small smile. "You're blushing." I grimaced. "Shush."
Sango placed the check on the table. "There ya go. Shame you guys have to leave so soon. You're a really cute couple," she laughed as Hachi's eyes turned into one of shock. I nearly choked. "I'm only kidding. You two look so alike, you have to be twins," she said with a giggle. "I can tell you guys are regulars. I just started working here," she said as Hachi put a few bucks in the check. I reached for my wallet that was in my jacket pocket for a tip. I grabbed out a twenty and slyly put it in the pocket of her polo shirt with a smile. A light blush dusted Sango's cheeks as she chuckled. "Real cute," she said, handing me a piece of paper. I raised an eyebrow but grabbed it, reading what was on it.
'You thought this was gonna be a piece of paper with my number? Well, you were wrong, now I know you're a thot', the paper read. A fit of laughter escaped my throat. Sango chuckled sheepishly, taking the paper back. "Wrong one," she said, handing me a piece of paper with an actual number on it. My face heated up. "Ha, I didn't realize this but I didn't even catch your name," she said. I smiled. "I didn't throw it." The small Inkling hesitated, processing what I just said before laughing. "Cute."
"I'm Nana." She nodded. "You already know me as Sango. You can call me San for short." She was just so adorable. I glanced over at Hachi, who was smirking at me. I gave Sango a smile before standing up. "It was real nice meeting you, San," I said with a bright smile. Hachi stood as well, grabbing my hand and leading me to the door. "Bye, Sango!" Before he pulled me out the door, I saw her standing there, smiling slightly and waving.
How could an Inkling be so damn cute?
