Chapter 22

Haley's P.O.V

I got to my car and drove to Sunny View Park. I got out and walked towards the park and sat down on the bench. I played on my phone until someone kissed me on my cheek.

I turned sharply and there he was, Ross Lynch, who I will not see very often.

Brittany came and sat next to us. "Hey guys", she smiled and gave me a glare that told me 'Break up with him'. I sighed and turned to Ross.

"Ross, I think we need to break up. It's not working for me", I acted and send him a secret wink without smiling.

He sighed and looked at Brittany. "We have more room at our group, Rossy. Lets go", she held his hand and they both walked away.

I was alone, drinking some coffee until someone sat at the same bench.

I looked up and Cole was smiling at me. "Hey Haylie, how's it going?", he asked. "Good, you?", I asked. "Good", He replied.

We talked for a long time.

"So where's Ross?", he asked. I sighed and explained everything to him.

"He's with Brittany?", he asked.

"Well, not really", I smiled. He nodded and we continue to talk.

His phone rang and talked to someone. I believe it was his girlfriend.

"Sorry Haylie, my girlfriend wants me home", he smiled. We both hugged and said our goodbyes.

After he left, I called Maddy. I punched in her number and it dialed.

"Hello?", she answered.

H: Haley M: Maddy

H: Hey

M: Oh Heyyyy

H: How are you?

M: Good, you

H: Good. Do you want to go to the mall?

M: Sure. Ooh, lets bring Rydel as well

H: Perfect. See you there

M: Same here

We hung up and I started getting ready to go to the mall.

Once I got there, I saw Maddy and Rydel waving at me.

I each gave them hugs and Rydel spoke.

"I heard what happened. Are you okay?"

I nodded and smiled. She hugged me for a second and Maddy dragged us to the mall.

Once we went to 3 stores in the mall, we went to the food court. We got a pizza and shared it.

I heard giggles next to me and I turned and it was Brittany's group, with Ross.

"Can we go sit somewhere else?", I begged.

I secretly point at Brittany and they nodded. we went on the other side of the food court and ate our lunch.

After we ate, we got to 2 stores and into the parking lot.

Rydel stops for a minute and backs away.

"Delly, what's wrong?", I asked.

"My ex is here", she pointed to a handsome man who was behind his car and smiled at her.

She scoffed and walked away.

"My car is next to his", she sighed. "I can get it and park it somewhere else" I volunteered.

"Thanks sweetie", she hugged me and handed me her keys. "Make sure his face doesn't mess with you" she whispered.

I nodded and headed for her car. I got to the driver's seat until someone grabbed my arm.

"Well, well if it isn't Haley Johnson" he smirked.

"Let me go" I murmured without looking at him.

He leaned in and kissed my neck. "Get off! I know what you did to Rydel and it isn't gonna work on me!" I shoved him to his car and closed the door.

I backed up and parked close to Rydel. She ran into her car and sped off. We ran to our cars and drove off.

We got to Maddy's house and sat on her couch. Rydel looked at my neck and back at me.

"What did he do?" she asked, clenching her hands.

"Kissed my neck, probably bit it" I confessed.

"What happened between you and-"

"Marc cheated on me, with Brittany" she sighed.

"I'm so sorry he cheated on you with that dirty cheater" Maddy rubbed her back.

The doorbell rang and Maddy opened it.
