Alexa POV

I could hear voices. But I couldn't make out the words.

My whole body hurt. But it was dull.

Less than is should have been.

I still couldn't move.

The only place that wasnt hurting at all was my hand. I could feel his in mine. The tingles and warmth slowly spreading through my body. Taking the some of the pain away.

Adrian.

My mate.

Adrian POV

I can't believe it.

My mate was hurt.

All because I couldn't protect her.

My wolf and I hung our heads in shame.

What kind of mate and Alpha was I if I couldn't even protect my own mate from some lousy rogues?!

My wolf, Dylan, whimpered. He then held his head high and made me take her hand. Slowly, I could feel pain. Since I couldn't protect her, I might as well take away as much of the pain as I could.

Even if it left me in extreme pain.

Because I will do anything for her.

And everything for her.

Always.
