D E D I C A T I O N
This book is dedicated to my amazing editor, honey-tea-rosemary I can't thank you enough for all those beta reads and actually listening to my babbling. This book is also dedicated to AlexFaith24, rnpoetry, & seniorquote for being amazing people in my life. And to anyone who has the misfortune of reading this piece of faex.
I N T R O D U C T I ONI first started writing this book back in July. But instead of publishing or furthering the story. I rewrote Chapter 1 for over two months. After over a year, I finally finished writing. I'm a young author, over the first ten chapters were written while I was in my eight grade. If you have made the mistake—sorry—been kind enough to actually read TLAL, than I don't know if I'll ever be able to thank you enough. I'm always open (open? Sorry I meant desperate) for feedback. Thank you, and please enjoy. Or don't. It's up to you. However, I truly hope you do.

1) This book will occasionally undergo an edit or two, to adjust grammar or sentencing.
2) *Latin Phrases Are Used:
This book will, sometimes, use Latin phrases even though it's written entirely in English. Please correct me if any of these phrases are wrong, it only helps me be more aware. There is little to no cussing in this book, the majority of it done entirely in old Latin swear words that are no longer used to date.
*All translations and even character aesthetics and maps are on the chapter labeled "The Guide to Latin and the Wardens of the Los Angeles Lighthouse".3) There are several trigger warnings:
• Underage Drinking ~ Do not drink, kids. It's bad for you. This story does not promote underage drinking, it solely captivates it's negative effects on a person.
•Abuse ~ There is referenced abuse of both emotional and physical throughout the story. Main chapters where abuse is prominent include: 18, 22, 23.4) This is a LGBT+ and Diverse Book:
If you do not respect this, please do not spread hate and instead—simply leave. As a young member of the community, I've always been desperate to get my hands on a fantasy book where there are LGBT characters—as well as POC and a strong diversity. Give me gays and dragons. Just saying—we should not be limited to slice of life, teen fiction, and coming of age.
