I can't stand looking for a new story in the, let's say, action section, and four billion of the four billion of one are fanfics of One Direction, or Justin Bieber, or WHOEVER else.
Let me tell you my reaction to this crap.
AHHHH!
I only joined Wattpad about a year ago or so on my writing account, and when I would go on the "What's Hot" page, it showed normal, amazing books that wasn't about a famous person.
I see books as something realistic, unless it's a fantasy, of course. And most of the damn fantasy stories make so much more sense then the fanfics.
It's kind of funny. Fanfics were a section on the Watty's, and still are. Last years winners were Harry Potter, if I'm right? About Draco Malfoy or something. I mean, I see nothing wrong with those. I thought it was an original idea, and although I never read it, I never dissed it, either.
And NOW? All of the damn fanfics are about either One Direction or Justin Bieber, all that jazz! Mostly One Direction, though... It's terrible.
Don't get mad at me, Directioners. I'm not saying that they're bad singers. I know that they have talent as a boy band. But so did N'SYNC! The Backstreet Boys! All of them were just as good, and I'm pretty sure that, although they were rather obsessed over, not quite as much as 1D is. I can't go on someone's Wattpad page without seeing "I'm a true Directioner! I'm married to Harry! Call me Mrs. Harry Styles!"
SHUT. YOUR. FREAKING. MOUTH!
I'm absolutely positive that Harry, or Zayn, or whoever, have no idea who you are, unless you went up to them and practically attacked them. Then they might know you.
I'm a dream crusher, I know. But it's not going to happen. You'll marry some normal person, someone you love, someone meant for you. Not one of the five people in that band. There's only five of them, and they're going to marry (if they do) a random celebrity or someone they've known for a long time, someone closer to their age. And while I don't see anything wrong with being obsessed over a band or singer, because that would be hypocritical (I love Coldplay, Owl City, and Maroon 5), but I'm not making plans over my wedding colors with Adam or any of that crap.
And the stories! There's those ones about how they just happen to meet on the side of the street... I highly doubt that would happen! Really!
The ones with them having a concert and they are all like, "I love you, random fangirl out of millions. Let's run away and get married together." You're kidding me, aren't you? Not gonna happen.
Don't even get me started on the ones where they happen to be like, best friends with them, or the damn "Babysitting One Direction!" stories. That's not going to happen! They're grown up, and, even if they act immature, they aren't going to be babysat. And, for some reason, they DO need a babysitter, then they'd be babysat by like, a celeb or something. Yeah, "baby-sat".
Just die.
Oh, forgot one. The ones with werewolves or vampires or something? When Niall or someone in the band is one of those creatures, and they mate or something? WHAT'S THE CHANCE IN THAT?? I mean, I do have problems with werewolves and vampires and stuff (future rant), but that's not realistic at all! Why would they be one of the two? Wouldn't they have gone all crazy on fans or something by now? Ain't happening!
Seriously! You have writing talent. Don't waste it on writing about famous people that have a million other fanfics on here, because you're not being unique that way. Write a normal story, or I'm going to come and stab you in your sleep.
Then we have Justin Bieber. I don't think there's quite as many as 1D out there, but we have to admit, that isn't happening either! He's with Selena Gomez, I'm pretty sure. And even if they break up, he isn't going to go run to you for comfort. STOP WITH THIS!
I like the Hunger Games ones, though, even though some don't make sense. I'm a huge Hunger Games fan, and a lot don't make any sense at all if you've read the books. If you were such a big fan, then you would know it's wrong.
Now, I think I'm done ranting about (gahh) fanfics. Should be a new rant up every day. I get pretty vengeful for a young girl.
