Archie POV
"Hey come on!" Reggie was yelling at me "Let loose and just chill for once. There's a cute girl over there that is just dying for you to show her a good time."
I looked where he was pointing and there was Betty, way too waisted for a party meant for football players.
"Yeah I think I'm gonna tap that." I told him, when in reality I just wanted to make sure she got back home, without something happening. She was like my little sister.
"Atta boy!" He said slamming his hand on my back.
When I made it over there, Chuck was just trying to get in her pants.
"Hey Betty!" I yelled at her, when I got closer.
"Archie!" She giggled, that's another thing, she has the biggest crush on me, and has for almost forever. I play dumb a lot and act like I really don't know, but it's kind of obvious. "You're hot." She said as she wrapped her arms around my neck, spilling beer on my jacket. Oh yeah and she's extremely honest and needy when she's drunk.
"Thanks, how about we take this back to your place." I said in her ear, only loud enough for her to hear.
"Sure." She giggled again. It was annoying.
I put my arm around her waist and helped her walk next door to her house.
Her mom answered the door "What do we have here?" She asked as if she caught us.
"She got a little too tipsy at the party and I wanted to take her home before somebody did something to her." I explained.
"And so you could?" she insinuated.
"No. I don't like betty that way. She's more like a sister to me." I said "Can I take her up to her room, or you, or somebody else so that she can get some sleep?"
She stepped aside and I walked through, but as I started walking her up the stairs she passed out on me, so I ended up picking her bridal style and carrying her the rest of the way.
When I got up to her room, I laid her on her side with a couple blankets/pillows to make sure she didn't fall over, so she doesn't choke on her own vomit in case she throws up.
Mrs. Cooper watching me as I did it, probably to make sure I didn't actually do anything.
I was expecting to just walk out, but Mrs. Cooper stopped me by saying "I'm sorry I insinuated that earlier, I just know the football players your age, and many wouldn't have cared she couldn't consent."
"I understand Ms. Cooper, that's why I wanted to get her out, she is still one of my greatest friends." I explained.
"You're going to make a great husband one of these days." That took me by surprise, but I nodded anyways. "The girl you marry will be extremely lucky" and... there it is.
You see Riverdale may be seen as a perfect town, but in reality it was just a racist, homophobic, small, gossipy, sh*thole of a town. And me being the world's biggest homosexual is currently looking for Narnia in my wonderful closet.
So instead I simply said, "Thank you." and walked out the door.
Since I've taken out a girl, I've done my obligatory duty as team captain, and now I can actually do something I want to. Before I have to head back in the morning to clean up the mess of the party before my dad gets back.
That means I can head to my favorite place: the treehouse.Jughead POV
I'm in the Whyte Wyrm, the music is loud and it seems like every single girl wants to get in my pants. Being the leader is not easy, and telling them no, is the easiest part. Not that it's easy to tell like 5 girls at once that you don't want to sleep with any of them. I keep shoving my beanie over my ears every 5 minutes to make sure that no one can see them.
The loud music was irritating my hearing aids, but I couldn't adjust them, that would just make everyone be able to see it. You can't let anyone know that the leader has a weakness.
I made my way over to the bar to get a drink. That's another thing, everyone assumes I will be exactly like my father. But the thing is, they couldn't be more wrong, he's a recovering alcoholic, he loved to party, and he was a great leader. Me on the other hand couldn't care less about partying and I refuse to touch any alcohol, I just hope that I can be half as good as my dad was.
"Can I get a Mountain Dew?" I asked Toni. She seemed like she was the only one not interested in me, probably because we've known eachother forever.
"Absolutely." She said as she reached underneath and grabbed a glass bottle of Mountain Dew. After a minute she asked me. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Depends on what the question is." I replied.
"You don't seem that interested in the party. Why?"
"Well, parties aren't exactly my scene." I knew I could trust her. She's been my best friend since I moved to the southside. "Hey, can I ask a favor?"
"Depends on what the favor is."
"Can I just say I'm taking you home so I don't have to deal with any of these hoes, and I can leave early?"
"Sure, I dont give a sh*t" she replied. "you don't expect to do anything, do you?"
"Seriously Toni?" I rolled my eyes "It's me."
"Fair point. Let me just find someone to cover my shift." She said as she made her way out from behind the bar.
Just then, a girl walked over to me and tried to sit on my lap. She got offended when I pushed her off.
"What do you say we head back to mine tonight?" she said, trying to whisper it in my ears but I wouldn't let her anywhere near my head. The less people knew, the better.
"No thanks." I replied and took another swing from my drink.
"Oh, come on don't play so hard to get." she said, in a way that was probably supposed to be seductive. But between her caked on makeup, and breath, her extreme need to get in my pants and her generally being a girl, it was quite annoying.
Before I could respond, Toni walked out and saw it. "Hey, come on babe let's go home." she said as she pulled my arm.
I got up and left with her without a protest, I really needed to get out of there. There was a thank you involved, but other than that we walked back to her place in relative silence, but we both knew that nothing was going to change it.
When I dropped her off, I was about to just leave when she said "Where are you headed off to?"
I knew I could be honest with her "Anywhere but home."
"You could stay here on the couch." she said.
"Relax, I can handle myself." I said.
"Do you have your brass knuckles, switchblade, both hearing aids?" she asked.
I groaned "Yes, yes, and yes. Relax no one knows I have hearing aids, and if someone attacks me, I'll be able to fight them off. Quit worrying."
"Okay, just be careful." she said with a concerned look on her face.
"I will." I said as I walked in no particular direction.
I did some wandering, which was not a smart thing to do on the southside, but I didn't care. I just wanted to be anywhere but at home. My mom with her blinded rage over anything I could have messed up, I was just asking for a punishment, if I wasn't home before midnight when she got back, but I couldn't help but take the risk. It was worth the extra hours I have to myself.
It was hours before I stumbled upon something in the woods, I recognized it immediately. It'd been a little while since I had been here but I still feel like I could go. My treehouse, on the edge of North and south, settled by sweetwater river.
