Chapter 1, Episode 3: A Star's Shine

Later that night...

The ballroom had the first year students all sleep their for the night, as dorms would be assigned after the initiation. Everyone had pulled out their sleeping bags, some already sleeping while others talking with friends. Ruby was already lying on her sleeping bag, writing a letter in her journal.

Yang: It's like a big slumber party! (Falling onto her sleeping bag next to Ruby)

Ruby: (Still writing the letter) I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though.

Yang: I know I do. *purring noises*

Yang gets slightly distracted by all the shirtless, buff males in the room before Jaune walks in his pajamas.

Yang: (Looks at the journal) What's that?

Ruby: A letter back at the gang at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going.

Yang: Aww, that's so cuuuuute!!!!

Ruby: Shut up! (Throws her pillow right into Yangs face) I didn't get to take my friends with me to school. It's weird not knowing anyone here.

Shadow soon walks in, wearing his own sleeping clothes, a simple white T-shirt and black sweatpants. (Yes he is still wearing his mask.)

Yang: What about Jaune? He's...nice. You also have Shadow as well! There you go! Plus two friends! That's a 100% increase!

Ruby: (Turns around and lays on her back) I'm pretty sure Weiss counts as a 'negative friend'.

Shadow: I'm pretty sure a 'negative friend' doesn't exist, you just made an enemy is all.

Yang: Exactly! You just made two friends and one enemy!

Shadow: (Nails another pillow at Yang's face before getting one one knee and looking at Ruby) Look Ruby, it's been one day. There are friends all around you, and trust me, you just haven't meet them yet.

Ruby: You're right, but I just don't know how to approach them...

Shadow: It's a learning experience, it'll take time before you're comfortable making friends.

Ruby slightly leans up and looks ahead at the girl from earlier that day. She's currently dug herself into her book.

Ruby: It's that girl...

Yang: You know her?

Ruby: Not really. She saw what happened this morning, but left before I could talk to her.

Yang: Well, now's your chance! (Grabs Ruby's arm and pulls her to the Girl)

Ruby: Ack! Shadow, help meee!

Shadow: I'm gonna stay outta this, remember it's a learning experience!

Ruby: (Shakes her fist at Shadow as she's dragged away) Traitor!

Shadow: (Slightly chuckling at the sister's relationship while smiling.) Guess the Rose does have thorns.

Shadow walks to his sleeping bag and gets in it, turning to set an alarm for tomorrow, then slowly drifts off.

Shadow: [Tomorrow's initiation...best if I take it seriously, or things could end up very bad...We'll just have to see how it goes]

The next Morning...

Shadow's 7:00 alarm goes off, waking up Shadow as he reaches for his phone and dismissed the alarm. While standing up, he notices that a orange hair girl that is waking up another student.
