Shadows seem to have no heart, no feelings, no emotion. Yet Shadow Joker Strife is different, his heart had been changed, after seeing his family killed in front of him. He attends Beacon Academy to train so he can protect those he cares about. Fate...
The shuttle makes it's way through the skies, clouds speeding by the shuttle as if they weren't even there. Shadow is sharpening his Crimson Blade as he looks out side. He slightly sighs as he thinks of RWBY's safety.
Pilot: Hey, the land is in sight! You best prepare for drop off.
Shadow: Of course.
Shadow sheaths his blade and looks towards the floating island ahead, a town slowly comes into view, burned and destroyed by some form of attack. Though the view is disrupted as the sound of a blade is heard cutting metal, making the ride very unstable as Shadow heads to the pilot's cockpit.
Shadow: What's going on?!
Pilot: Out engine was attacked! I'm not sure by who, but it caused severe damage to the engine.
Shadow: Can you get the shuttle to land?
Pilot: It might be possible, but it won't be a safe landing.
Shadow: Just try to get me to the island.
The pilot turns the shuttle towards the island before another blade strike hits it. The shuttle starts plummeting towards the island with no way to control it.
Shadow: Brace for impact!
Shadow lays on the ground as the shuttle crashed into the island, sliding into the ground before coming into a complete stop. The ship is decimated, sparks fly out as Shadow slowly rises from the ground, grabbing his gut in pain.
Shadow: Arg...that hurt...
Shadow looks over to the pilot, who is covered in blood as Shadow limps over to the dead body.

Shadow: Looks like he didn't survive the crash...I've got to leave.
Shadow sees the door slightly bent from the crash, almost weak enough that is could be kicked down. Shadow walks over and kicks the door, It budges a little bit, he kicks again, and the door becomes very loose.
Shadow: Just...one more time.
Shadow on his final attempt to kick the door succeeds, and the door flies of as Shadow walks out of the shuttle, now in less pain as he views the town. The place is abandoned, burned building and cracks are very easily seen, as well as a few buildings already collapsed. Shadow pulls out his scroll and looks at his mission, which tells him to, "Look for any survivors and bring them to Beacon."
