Down in the arena, Pyrrha is still looking hesitant and distracted while Penny politely salutes her opponent.
Penny: *hands on her hips in excitement* Sal-u-tations, Pyrrha Nikos! It's an honor to finally meet you!
The troubled Pyrrha doesn't respond, looking at her hands as she clenches them in attempted determination.
Penny: *not noticing Pyrrha's reluctance* This is going to be so much fun!
Pyrrha: *prepares battle stance* Let's hope so...
Meanwhile with Ruby and Rinoa, their both In the same structure behind closed doors, Ruby is still facing down an up-and-standing Mercury, who's smugly smiling at the younger girl's confusion.
Rinoa: Mercury, what are you doing? You're going to hurt people! Why...*narrows her eyes in suspicion* What's going on?
Mercury: *chuckles* Always wanting to be a hero huh? Well, If I were to tell you I would be killed for treason...speaking of which...
Mercury loads a bullet into his gun leg, kicking Emerald back against a wall and knocking her out unconscious before he returns his look to them.
Ruby: Well in that case, we can't let you get away.
Mercury: Pfft, Yeah right. Like you can do anything against me Red, but you don't have you're Scythe with you.
Rinoa: *hits him in the head with the boomerang blade before returning to her* Can you just shut up? I've got a bone to pick with you.
Ruby: And so do I!
Penny beams widely in anticipation, but Pyrrha is still looking around as if in a daze, though she manages a small scowl at her opponent, her weapons already in hand.
Oobleck: *counting down as General Ironwood calmly sits to observe the fight, Nora and Ren cheer for their teammate while Jaune simply watches anxiously.* 3, 2, 1... *Oobleck leans forward* BEGIN!
Mercury: *looking at Rinoa* Showtime.
Rinoa blocks the first kick that Mercury sends towards her, which pushes her back as Mercury shoots a bullet. Ruby attempts to try and fight Mercury, but he dodges her poor attempts of hand-to-hand combat before easily kicking her into a wall.
Rinoa: *as Ruby flies past her* Ruby!
Ruby hits the wall and falls down in a slumped position unconscious. Rinoa turns with anger as she rushes and jumps to Round-House kick Mercury, only for the villain to kick her mid-dash with and knock her to the ground. He advances on her just as she gets our her Scroll, and pushes a button to call for help when a bullet shatters the device into several shards.
Mercury: *lowering his leg from its kick* Let's just keep this between us friends. *he moves towards her as she stands up*
Rinoa: Friends? You nearly got me killed in our match!
Mercury: And we would've won too, had it not been for your brother and the stupid dragon.
Rinoa: You would rather kill people just to move forward in a tournament than play by the rules?! But why?
Mercury: The soon-to-be Fall maiden has a plan to make Beacon fall, and now I need to know something from you...
Mercury charges Rinoa and kicks her down to the floor. As she tries to stand up, she gets pined to the floor by Mercury's boot.
Mercury: Where is you brother Shadow? Tell me, or I'll make sure you're sent to where you belong Angel.
