Betty's POV
I'm studying on my desk when my phone starts singing, I look at the phone and it reads 'Veronica' I answer.
"Hey Veronica, what's up?"
"Hey Betty, are you free this Thursday?"
"Yeah.
"So you know it's Juggie's birthday on Thursday and it's gonna be a karaoke themed party, and I was wondering if you could come?"
"Um, yeah sure."
"Okay cool, bye Betty."
"Bye."
Great. This is not good at all. You see Jug and I have have been friends ever since we could walk and we did everything together. But as we grew older I stared to have feeling for him, as much as I tried to get rid of them I couldn't. So when we were 14 I was gonna tell him how I felt, but before I could even talk he said that he met this new girl named Veronica and he really likes her, she's one of those popular people with the designer clothes and expensive shoes. At that point in time my heart shattered into a million pieces. But he seemed happy so I had to be happy for him.
They started to date a year ago and every time I saw them kiss, hold hands or hug I just wished it was me. But me and Veronica grew closer and we became friends, but I still have feelings for Jug...hell I might even love him, but he's with Veronica and there's nothing I can do. Besides why would a guy like Jug even like a pathetic girl like me.
My phone lights up.
He texted me...
J- Hey wyd?
B- Nothing much just studying, you?
J- Just laying in bed
J- So you coming on Thursday?
B- Of course what kind of a best friend would I be if I didn't come?
J- Okay good just making sure, it wouldn't be the same without you
B- Its okay I'm coming, so how have you been?
J- I've been better
B- Wanna talk about it?
J- Ronnie and I got into another fight few days ago
Why am I not surprised?
The thing with Veronica and Jug is that they always fight. So every time me and Jug hang out he always tells me their problems and it always seems to be 'I saw V flirting with someone' 'I caught Ronnie texting this guy nudes' oh and my favourite 'I think Veronica is cheating on me' but the most annoying thing is that he just runs back to her, even though I tell him so many times that she is not good for him but he doesn't listen to me, he just goes back to her.
To be honest me and Veronica aren't even real friends she only uses me for homework and exams and stuff and we don't and we don't act like friends should act. One thing I don't like is that I can't remember the last time I've seen Jug have a genuine smile on is face ever since they started dating.
B- What happened?
J- I saw her kissing Archie...
B- Jug why are you with her if she keeps hurting you, I can't stand it when you get hurt
J- I know I know, but I'm actually thinking of breaking up with her tomorrow
My eyes widen, finally.
B- Wait for real, when?
J- I'm thinking maybe after school, cause you're right I can't be with her if she is gonna keep hurting me
