Maki was waiting in the usual spot. Exactly where they used to train and at the exact time. The wind wasn't so bad. Just a small breeze that blew her bangs into her face. It wasn't like Kaito and Shuichi to be late and she was thinking about going back to her dorm. She brushed out a few loose strands of hair out of her face and and begun to head back.
"Maki roll wait!" A voice called out from the direction she was walking from.Maki's pov
I heard Kaito's voice getting louder as he sprinted towards me. 'Maki roll' is a stupid name and I just so happened to get it. How annoying.
"Hey..*huff* Maki roll... *huff* are you ready to *huff* train?" He gasped with his hands on his knees. He didn't have to run over I would have waited. I then realised something. "Hey where's Shuichi?" I asked. He finally got his breath back and looked down on me (he was literally a whole head taller then me) "He said he'd skip it today but hey! That means more training for us!" I always liked how he could turn something bad into a good and positive thought.
We both sat down on the grass next to each other and I began doing sit ups. I could see him in the corner of my eye staring at me. It was distracting but it felt nice that someone took some kind of interest in me. "Are you going to do anything?" I said after 57 sit ups. "Oh! Yes that reminds me! I was going to help you!" Help me? What did he mean?
Suddenly, Kaito sat so that his strange goatee was brushing against me knees and his hands on my feet. "This will make it harder Maki roll! Try to do sit ups without taking your feet off the ground!" I have done training that was far more difficult and complex then this so my body automatically can keep my feet to the ground. I didn't want to say anything to him. Kaito was beaming at me. I always felt somewhat safe when he smiled like that. I flashed him a quick smirk before carrying on.
I was just about to reach my knees when I felt something. It was light and soft and it made a light pink spread across my face. Kaito's plan must have been to kiss me every time I did a sit up. I raised a hand to my face and looked at his. That damn smile. I loved it so much and it seemed like he was fearless. "Now it's easier to go for your goal of 100 sit ups Maki roll!" Kaito said still smiling. I didn't want him to know that I liked it but after a few he'd probably catch on. 'He probably knows that I liked it from that one kiss' I thought. While his eyes were closed, I quickly did my 59th push up and stole a kiss from him. "Hey! That's not fair!" He shouted like a child. With that, it became a competition to see how many times I could kiss him. Those few moments felt incredible. I've always secretly liked Kaito. It made me laugh that I'd fallen for an idiot but... he was my idiot.
Maki roll...
I loved it when he called me that.
