dedicated to everyone who seems to really like this story lol ...
————————————————————"So how is rehearsing going?" Gwen asks as we stand in the locker room, putting back on our regular clothes.
I look down, because suddenly buttoning my pants seems real important now, and give a nonchalant shrug. Or atleast what I hope can pass as nonchalant.
Gwen gives me a look. "Yea. I bet. You and Duncan spend countless hours at each other's houses, really perfecting those lines." She says sarcastically as she laced up her boots.
I sigh. Our "rehearsals" have been anything but doing our lines it seems like. After the first incident, we couldn't seem to stop. I knew I was treading in dangerous waters, but I sort of didn't feel bad because Heather was such a bitch.
I told Duncan such the other day.
"So why are you with her if you don't even like her?"
We were sitting on my bed, after a heavy make out session. I was curled up against his chest and I felt him sigh.
I raised my head to look him in the eye.
"I don't know...I mean, back when we first started dating I really did like her. Mind you, this was in the 9th grade. Anyways, everything was great until she started to change. She was different, I wasn't. We've been on and off for years and I guess it's just natural now. Even though I feel like we don't belong together, there is something that keeps me even when the rest of me is saying go."
I didn't know how I felt about being a side chick forever.
"Well...do you think you and I would ever..."
He looks back at me.
"Court, I want to be with you now. I just...shit. I just don't want to drag you into her shit. I've dated a couple people in between and she definitely has a way of making your life hell."
I sit up fully.
"I can handle myself, Duncan. I'm not afraid of her or her little cronies. I don't know how long I can play this part."
He nods and nothing else needs to be said between us.
I pull my hoodie over my head. "Listen.. you can't tell anyone this...."

Unbeknownst to the two female friends, another girl just walked back in to grab a forgotten item. She was about to turn the corner when she stopped short."Duncan and I have been hooking up...." She holds in a gasp and leans up against the wall to hear more but not reveal her presence.
"Dude...I knew it. It's about time. What is he gonna do about Hellhound?"
"He wants to break up with her but he's just worried about the backlash..." There was a slam of the locker and the girl scrambled to get out quietly, forgetting her left item.
This was even better.

A/N: chapter was short AS HELL. I know. But, I had to do something right.
A quick recap:
Duncan and Courtney have been having their little line readings (really just makeout sessions)
Courtney is pushing for Duncan to break up with H, but he's worried it'll cause too much drama
And of course, Courtney admits to Gwen they've been hooking up, not knowing someone else was in the room.Who is this person ? We don't know. Well, I do, but you guys don't know yet . 😉
Until next time my SWEETS
