"Hi my name is Courtney McKenna and I'm auditioning for the role of Rizzo." I said as I stepped on the stage, trying to focus on the small desk perched in the audience, but the only thing I saw was a small light.

I cued the piano player to start.

There are worst things I could do
Then go with a boy or two
Even though the neighborhood thinks I'm trashy
And no good
I suppose it could be true
But there are worst things I could do

I could flirt with all the guys
Smile at them and bat my eyes
Press against them when we dance make them think we stand a chance then refuse to see it through
That's a thing I'd never do

I could stay home every night
Wait around for Mr.Right
Take cold showers every day
And throw my life away
On a dream that won't come true

I could hurt someone like me
Out of spite or jealousy
I don't steal and I don't lie but I can feel and I can cry
A fact I'll bet you never knew
But to cry in front of you
That's the worst thing
I could do

"Woo!" I heard a cheer from the audience consisting of Trent Gwen Bridgette and Geoff. "Very good Ms.McKenna. I'll definitely be getting back to you." She gave me a knowing smile and I walked off the stage, feeling confident. "You rocked that Mocha!" Geoff says.

"You really did and I hate Grease." Gwen adds. I smile brightly at all of them. "Thanks guys." We decide to go out to the local diner to celebrate.

"This has got to be some mistake." I say as I rush into Ms. Coleman's office. Apparently someone feels the same way, Heather is sitting in the chair in front of her desk, glaring.

"No mistake Courtney. You got the role of Sandy." Ms. Coleman says standing up. "But-but. I didn't audition for that role. I auditioned for Rizzo!" I protest. "I know. I just that Sandy would be a better role for you."

I open my mouth to give some reasons why I didn't want that role, and Heather opened her mouth to say something else, but she cut us off. "This is the final casting list. I will see you ladies at rehearsal this afternoon."

She exits the room and Heather glances at me, still upset. "Congratulations." She says but I known she's being insincere.

Damn. What the hell did I just get myself into?
