Promise

“That’s all what he told me” said the old man, ended his story.
“Do you mean, he is my father? That demon?” Rin asked, her eyes glisten
The old man nodded
“Jii-san, do you think the child that Daigo sold to the demon to gain his power is ……Hyakki-nii?”
“I will confirm that, Rin-chan. I think so, but I don’t get any proof yet. I am on my way to find it now”
Rin sobbed, it was really fate, why her father want her to accompany the limbless boy. Everything has price to pay.
“Do you think he knows about this, Jii-san?”
He shooked his head
“I think he don’t know yet, Rin chan”
“Jii-san, tell me everything you get, okay? I am sure we will meet again”
She bowed to the old man and take her leave. The old man just saw her went away, he didn’t see the tears rolled down her face, but he knew she was crying.

“Why Rin-nee take so long, aniki? Do you think she is lost?” asked Dororo, he just enjoyed his dango. Its been so long since Rin said she went to toilet.
“Let’s find her” said Hyakki
They walked to the place near the river, where they parted away with Rin before.
“She is not here, aniki” said Dororo. Suddenly Hyakki ran, “Anikii, wait” said Dororo
Hyakki saw Rin’ s flame. He follow it, believe that it was her.
A girl was standing below the tree. She was Rin
“Hyakki-nii” Rin saw the boy, don’t believe the boy can find her.
“Hahh….hahh…. aniki, you’re so fast. Rin-nee” Dororo hugged Rin as he saw her.
“We searched for you everywhere, we afraid that you lost” said Dororo
“Thank you Dororo, Hyakki-nii”
“Rin-nee, what happen? What took you so long?”
“Hmm… I just find this tree beautiful, I startled over it, I don’t know it took so long, hahaha”
They spent the night there. Although they have money to stay overnight at an inn, but they used to sleep outside.
Rin couldn’t sleep. She woke up and went to the river side.
She saw herself in the water, she touched her image, as she think what will happen when Hyakki knows about the truth about him, and the truth about her.
A hand touched her shoulder, Rin turned around and find Hyakki standing behind her
“Hyakki-nii” Rin shocked, the bouy suddenly sat beside her. He saw her with sad look on his face. Rin noticed it
“I am just thinking about something, Hyakki-nii” said Rin
“Hyakki-nii, promise me” Rin touched his hands, she looked him in the eyes
“You will get all of your body parts” she said, as she tightens up his hands
Hyakki nodded, “I will”
Rin was crying, as Hyakki took her head towards him. he didn’t know why Rin was crying, but he just wants to comfort her.

They three arrived at Banmon, the villager said the monster often appeared there. Daigo and the people from Asaka will have a war there.
“They appeared” said Dororo. The monster showed up and Hyakki slice them.
“Dororo, hide” said Rin, as she shoot an arrow to the monster that almost killed Dororo
As they finally took down all the monsters, Daigo and his soldier appeared.
“Who are you?” asked Hyakki-nii
“ I am your father, Hyakkimaru” said Daigo, he told him about why he sold him to the demon. It hurts him so much
Suddenly, Tahoumaru come in.
“Brother, I understand why father sold you. I wont let you interfere with the land that father build, I will kill you myself” said Tahoumaru, and they fought each other.
Rin can’t stand to see it. How can a big brother and little brother killed each other?
She ran to them and as Hyakki’s sword almost slice Tahoumaru’s right eye, she hold both of their sword, made her hands bleed.
They two speechless.
“Hyakki’nii, Tahoumaru. Was killing your sibling is the best choice for you?”
“Rin, you’re hurt” said Tahoumaru, worried about her
“You sold your son to the demon just to make your land rich? Your land poor just because your lack of competence” said Rin to the Daigo
“Little girl, don’t interfere with our live. Go away from them, let they settle this” said Daigo. He prepared to shoot her at any time
“I don’t want to see them fight” said Rin
Daigo get angry and shoot an arrow to Hyakki, Rin tried to protect him.
“Arghhh…”
The arrow pierced through Rin’s arm.
“Father, don’t hurt her” said Tahoumaru, Daigo just smiled
Rin was bleeding.
“Rin-nee” Dororo went towards her, he was doing wound dressing to Rin’s arm
Hyakki seems angry, he put Rin on the ground and ready to stab Daigo with his sword
Suddenly a woman appeared, she was Hyakki’s mother.
“I will never let you suffered alone”
“Okaa-san” said Hyakki
The woman stab a knife to her heart.
