Did I mention how much I love Van Halen? Because I love them. A lot.

Just like the night before, Lydia had quietly entered through the door, only this time it was the door that lead to her apartment, and not her hotel room.

She locked the door behind her and took a look around the kitchen, which was where the door first lead to. Eddie was nowhere to be found, nor any curtains, for the sunlight was blaring in through the one windows above the sink.

Lydia set her bag by the door and walked over to the refrigerator, opening the door and scanning the shelves for any food. Unfortunately, they were empty except for a carton of milk and some leftover chicken strips, sitting on a paper plate from god knows where.

The girl groaned at the thought of no food since she hadn't eaten this morning. In reaction, she shut the door and jumped once she saw who was behind it.

Seeing the man made her let out a weird, low-pitched, screaming noise. She sighed in relief once she realized it was just Eddie, but she still felt her heart beat in response.

"That was the weirdest noise I've ever heard you make," Eddie announced.

"Well what did you expect when you decide to scare me like that?" Lydia retaliated.

Eddie rolled his eyes, but instead of continuing the conversation further, he wrapped his arms around the girl and lifted her a couple, but not many inches off the ground, since he was not that tall as she hugged him in response, taking in his smell that she had been away from.

"We got a record deal!" Eddie excitedly mumbled into Lydia's shoulder before setting her back down. "Can you believe that?!"

"Yeah, I can, because it's all I've been telling you guys for the past couple of weeks! And you never listened," She scolded like a mother.

Eddie rolled his eyes. "You can say 'I told you so' now,"

"Ah whatever," Lydia huffed in reply. "The important thing is that you guys did it, and you're finally gonna go somewhere." Lydia finished, rubbing her eyes from the leftover sleep that hadn't left her mind.

"Yeah, and the fact that we get to go out and celebrate tonight," The man added.

"True. I'm guessing we're going to a bar?"

"You guessed right. You're okay with that?" Eddie questioned.

"Oh yeah. Whenever I get the pleasure of seeing you guys get shitfaced, I'm the happiest person alive," Lydia smiled sarcastically. "At least you guys get an excuse tonight."

"We'd get shitfaced whether we had a record deal or not,"

"You're right. But I won't get as mad at you like I normally do, so it's a win, win," Lydia replied.

"Okay," Eddie grinned  and leaned back upon the closed refrigerator in reply. "But anyways, how was the trip?"

"It was good. But I talked to you about it last night on the phone," Lydia spoke.

"I remember. Except I was too tired to remember every single thing about it,"

"I'm with you," Lydia admitted. "Before you called I tried to write the article about the band and I almost fell asleep five different times. Unfortunately, I'm still just as tired and even more hungry. But all we have is milk and chicken strips."

"Ah, so even the amount of extra sleep you got, still wasn't enough?" Eddie laughed.

"Aw, be quiet," Lydia said. "Just because I slept extra doesn't mean I got the right amount."

"Then take a nap today because we'll be out late tonight," Eddie suggested.

"Don't tell me twice," Lydia yawned as if it was on command. "But first, we are going out to eat breakfast, since there is no food in this household."

"Agreed," Eddie responded, not waiting for Lydia to head out the door and travel to the car, heading over to the nearest breakfast place the two could find.

And for a little bit, it seemed as if everything between the two was back to normal, since they were talking and hanging out like they had been. Everything that day seemed to be going alright and routine. All until that one night.

A/n: This was so short, boring, and bad and I apologize. But the next couple of chapters are going to be so great, I can reassure that. Thanks for reading! -Liz :)
