I sat on the highest treetop. I took a deep breath, my red hair twirling in the wind. I stood up carefully and leaped to the forests' dirt path. I'm Kushina Uzumaki. I'm a transfer student at the Hiddden Leaf Village Academy. Well, I will be a student starting tomorrow. I've been here for about a month though.
So far, I've been hiding in the forest. I once walked in the streets and I was beat up. I'm afraid of what would happen if I dared to step out of the forest. They'd probably just kill me. I'd be fine with that. Nobody likes me anyway. My parents, they don't pay attention to me very much.
I've been teased, beaten, and broken so many times. I get back up every time though. Why? Why would I get up if they just press me down again? Well...I have a dream. I'm going to be the first Lady Hokage. That's right. Hokage. I don't wanna give up. I wanna fight through the hardest parts of my life. Then they will finally.....notice me. They'll consider me a human.
That's all I want.
I just want to be noticed.
Not as the red-hot habanero.
Not the tomato.
Not the transfer student with a lot of temper and ugly long red hair.
Just........human.
I sat on a nearby rock. I wonder what I should find today for dinner...... I thought as I put my hand to my chin. I searched for something to eat. Nothing. I guess that leaves me with the.....village........
I stepped shyly on the path, people around me gasping and muttering. I took a deep breath and shut my eyes. Let them say what they want to, Kushina. Just let it all slip by. They'll be sorry when I become Hokage. I thought, taking another breath. I got to the ramen shop. This was the only place I wasn't judged at. "Hey, old man!! Can I have a bowl of ramen!?" I asked. "Kushina! Do you have enough money?" He asked. "I've got most of it. I'm sorry. I'm really trying my best." I said. "Nah! It's fine! This one is on the house!" He said. "Awesome!! Thanks!!" I said.
The warm broth sliding down my throat felt good. I finished sipping the last of the ramen as I smiled. "Thanks!" I said as I put the bowl down and left. "No problem, Kushina!" He said.
"Hey! Uzumaki kid!!"
This is what I was scared of.
I didn't think twice before running as far as I could.
"Don't you dare run from me, idiot!!" The voice shouted harshly.
I kept running.
Tears strolled down my face, dripping behind me as I ran until I collapsed.
I was at my limit, I couldn't move much longer.
"Hey!! Stop running!! I've got things to discuss with you!! Unfinished business with you!!!" They shouted.
They were close behind me.
Then it all changed.
The footsteps stopped as I heard a body hit the ground.I looked back and the guy was gone. I stopped and panted as I put my hands on my knees. Did he just.....throw himself to the ground and run away or.......did......did someone just save me......?!
I ran home with a smile on my face for the first time in quite some time. "I'm home!!" I shouted. "Welcome home, Kushina." I heard my Mom shout.
I ran to her and hugged her. "Looks like someone's in a good mood!" She smiled as she got down to my height. "Mommy! Someone saved me from a guy who wanted to kill me!!!" I smiled. "Oh!? Really? What's their name!? What do they look like?!" She asked. "I don't know. They ran off before I found out." I pouted. "That's ok. Maybe you'll meet them at the academy?" She asked. "I hope so!" I said. The next morning......
"Kushina, wake up. It's time to get ready for academy." Moms soft voice said. "Ok....." I said groggily. I jumped out of bed and walked to the kitchen for breakfast. "Who's my sensei, Mom?" I asked. "His name is Shinso." Mom said, giving me breakfast. "Ok." I said as I began eating.
"Kushina!! Don't forget, I'm picking you up right after school!!" Mom shouted as I ran to the academy doorways. "Kay!!" I shouted as I walked inside.
There was a very tall man with short black hair. "S-Sorry!!" I said, giving a short bow. "It's quite alright. Are you the new student? Kushina?" He asked me. "Yes, sir." I said. "Hah! What a coincidence!! Well, I'm your sensei, Shinso!" He said. "Oh, hello." I said. "Now, lets go to class." He said as he lead me to a doorway.
Shinso-sensei opened the door. Kids were being loud and obnoxious. "Alright! Alright! Everyone, quiet down!! We have a new student today!! Now, please introduce yourself." He said, looking at me as he finished his sentence. "I'm Kushina Uzumaki. I'm from the Hidden Eddy Village in the Land Of Whirlpools." I said. "Alright. Do you have a dream or a goal?" Shinso-sensei asked. "I will become Hokage!!" I blurted, covering my mouth and regretting saying it.
The kids began laughing and teasing. "Oh, brother. HEY! Knock it off!!" Shinso-sensei shouted as the room soon became silent. "Minato Namikaze." Shinso-sensei said. "Y-Yes?" A boy with bright yellow hair asked as he stood up. "Please, show Kushina around the school a bit." Sensei said. "Ok." He said.
The boy, Minato, came down to where I was standing. "Alright, lets go!" He said as he signaled me out of the room.
"So, you're Kushina, right?" He asked. "Yeah. You're Minato, right?" I asked. "Mhm. Anyway, that was homeroom with Shinso-sensei. This room down here is the place we go for indoor training, out there is outdoor training." He began. He's kinda cute. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING KUSHINA!? I thought as my face turned a bright red. "Kushina, are you ok?" He asked. "H-Huh!? What do you mean!? I'm fine!!" I said. "Alright, whatever you say." He laughed.
"This is the cafeteria. And that's about it." He said as we finished up the tour. "Alright. Thank you." I said. "No problem. I should be thanking you for getting me out of class. I already know this stuff." He said with a smile. His eyes glimmered as he looked into mine. "We should get back." I said, looking away so he didn't catch my redness. "Alright, whatever you say." He said as he brought me back to the homeroom.
We got back and he sat back down. "Shinso-sensei, where do you want me to sit?" I asked. "Hmm...Sit by Minato. It looks like he has an empty seat and you know him a little better than you know anyone else here." He said. Crap. I thought as I walked to the seat I was assigned to.
After school.....
Mom wasn't here after everyone left. I knew she would forget me. I said. "Kushina, where are your parents?" Shinso-sensei asked. "My mom forgot about me." I said. Shinso-sensei sighed. "Alright. Do you need an escort home?" He asked. "Probably." I said. "Ok. I'll be back out in a moment." He said, going back to the building.
"So, what caused you guys to move to the Leaf?" He asked as we walked to my place. "My mom was being tracked because of her special chakra, which I have too, so we ran away." I said. "I see." He said.
We got to my place and Shinso-sensei wanted to have a word with my mom before he left.
He left and my mom glared daggers into me. "You spoiled brat!! How DARE you!! I told you to not talk to anyone about my chakra!!" She shouted as she stormed over to me. "You're the one who always forgets about me!! And don't forget that I HAPPENED to inherit YOUR chakra!!!" I shouted back. "I wish I never had you!! I wish you would just go and die!" She shouted. "It's not like I WANT to be here!!" I shouted as I stormed to my room and slammed my door.
I cried as the words echoed over and over in my head. She was so stupid. She was always drunk and she never liked me in the first place.
I wish I could be in a different family.
