About a month later......

I sighed as I rested my head on my hand, waiting for the lecture to finish. I looked to my side to see Minato sleeping. He looked so relaxed and calm. I sighed again as I have a soft smile. I knew he couldn't see me but I did it anyway.

"Minato, hey, get up. It's time to get ready for lunch." I said. He jolted awake and alert. "Thanks, Kushina." He said, followed by a nervous laugh. "No problem. Just try and stay awake next time." I said. "Alright, I get it, I get it." He said as he rolled his eyes with a smile.

The day went by slowly. Shuriken practice was torture due to me not being able to aim. I sat on the side most of the time, watching everyone else get bullseyes and being recognized by the other students as I was simply laughed at.

At lunch, I sat alone like always. Some kids who sat near me, just a few seats away, threw their trash at me. Sure, I had it rough. Yeah, so what if nobody likes me? I'm not here to be everyones friend. I'm teaching myself that the hard way. If I'm lucky, I won't have to deal with my parents. Luckily, I've been given permission to walk myself home and to the academy everyday.

I wouldn't be surprised if I lose in the chunin exams. If I do, that'll show EVERYBODY what I really am like!! Hah! I should ask for some personal training!! That'll help me show everyone how strong I am!!

After lunch......

"Hah! Look at that tomato!! She's so stupid! She should just quit!" A student said aloud. I let it slide. "I bet she doesn't even have guts! She's probably just a weak and puny idiot!" They added. That was it. I snapped. I threw myself onto the boy and punched him several times in the face as gasps were heard. "NEVER EVER CALL ME A TOMATO!! GOT THAT!?!" I shouted, pausing my rapid punches. "That's enough, Kushina!" Shinso-senei shouted. I ignored it. The boy didn't reply. I punched him once more. "I ASKED YOU A QUESTION!!" I shouted. I was pulled back by the back of my shirt. Another boy had me. He punched me and took a kunai, cutting my face and arms. "I said that's enough!!!" Shinso-sensei shouted, grabbing me and the boy, who had a blood stained kunai in his hand still. "Kushina, office." He said. "But-" "OFFICE." Shinso-sensei interrupted.

I stormed to the office. "What happened?" The nurse asked. "I don't wanna talk about it." I grumbled, tears falling down my face.

Shinso-sensei walked into the office with the kids I fought with. He told them to stay put as he walked to the principals office. After about three minutes, they called our names to be talked with one at a time. I was first.

"Tell me, Kushina, what happened in YOUR eyes?" Shinso-sensei asked.

"They won't stop calling me names! I despise it! That kid, he's always calling me names and throwing his trash at me at lunch! I didn't mean to get so mad! I just snapped! I'm sorry!!" I cried. It was a lot on my shoulders. I could've killed the boy. "Is there something going on at home?" The principal asked. I looked at Shinso-sensei, who nodded at me. "My parents...they abuse me.....my dad usually isn't home but when he is, he's drunk. My mom is always drunk. She wishes I was never born and she says it straight at my face. I'm not supposed to tell anyone but....my mom and I have special chakra and that's why we moved here. My mom doesn't want anyone to know but....yesterday, I told Shinso-sensei...he had a word with my mom and she was extremely angry at me." I said, breaking down into tears.

"What about your studies?" He asked. "I don't have the time to practice or study at home. I'm almost a slave. I'm always doing chores. I am trying as hard as I can! I swear!!" I cried. "I understand. I won't put you on a penalty or tell your parents due to how they might treat you. If you need, we can somehow get you in an additional training course." The principal said. "That'd be amazing." I said, wiping away my tears. "I'll talk to the boys. Go get yourself to the nurse." He said. "Thank you." I said, bowing before exiting.

I got home and slipped my shoes off onto the rug. I walked to the kitchen, where Mom and Dad were usually at this time. They were almost always drunk in the evening. "I'm home." I said as I began walking to the kitchen. Nobody answered. They're probably asleep. I thought. I walked around the house interior. Nobody. I walked to my room, hoping for a note that explained what was happening.

I opened the door to my room. Before turning a light on, I was suddenly captured. As I was being taken away by the intruder, who used the back door, I saw my parents dead, limp, lifeless bodies in a pool of blood. My eyes widened. "No!!! Somebody save me!!" I screamed.

They set me down and tied my hands behind my back and began pushing me around on the dirt path to who knows where we were going. They beat me and abused me. "Let's go. We can't have her dead." The leader of the group said as the others became silent and began walking down the path, two in front of me and one behind me, holding the rope my hands were tied to.

I wasn't strong enough.....

I began pulling small strands of my hair out, leaving a trail in case somebody wanted to save me or even noticed I was gone.
