A week later......
I caught up with all of the work I had missed while I was sick and was still ahead of our shuriken training. Thanks to Minato, it's been getting easier and easier to get ahead of the class.
People actually are starting to do a mystery.
They're starting to respect me.
They're treating me like just another classmate, not a monster.
Oh, and the kids I fought with? We've made up and are chill now. I apologized and to my surprise, they replied with an apology. Who knew enemies could be so nice!?
About a month later.........
The summer sun felt nice while we trained. Though it beat down roughly, we fought through it and got it done and over with.
"So, what are you guys doing after school?" Choza, who I had finally gotten to meet a while ago, asked. "I haven't really thought of it. I mean, today IS our last school day.....Maybe a training date with Fugaku and Mikoto or something. You have anything, Kushina?" Minato asked. "No, not really." I said. "Alright. I guess we'll just chill then." Minato said. "Alright. As a group?" I asked. "Probably if nobody's doing anything." He said. "Alright." I replied as he grabbed my hand under the desk.
We got out of school at last and rushed to the ramen shop. We ordered, ate, and left after paying. "Anyone want dango? It's on me tonight." Inoichi said. "I'm down for some." I said as a few others agreed. "Alright." Inoichi said.
I sat next to Minato, who was next to Fugaku, who was next to Mikoto. On the other side of the booth, Choza, Inoichi, and Shikaku sat. "So. How is everyone doing?" Inoichi asked to break the awkward silence. "We've been really good." Fugaku said as he looked at Mikoto and squeezed her hand gently. It felt nice to be able to wear shorts now that it was finally summertime. It was a lot harder to have training time though due to how many large heat waves we've had.
We had small conversations as we ate. Minato didn't want any because he wasn't up for it along with Mikoto. I had finished first. I always finished eating first. What can I say? I'm a fast eater, that's all. I relaxed in the booth and suddenly jumped after feeling something. A hand. On my leg. I looked down and sure enough, a hand on my upper leg. I followed the arm to see Minato. It was him. I gulped as I sat awkwardly. "You ok?" Inoichi asked, probably sensing my comfort leaving me. Minato's hand flinched and was off my leg. "Y-Yeah. I just....got a cold chill. That's all." I lied. "Whatever you say." He replied.
We finished hanging out as everyone went home. Minato still walked me home. "Hey....um. So, about at the dango place...." I began. "I know. It was inappropriate for me to do that. I'm sorry." He said. "No, it's ok. It just shocked me a bit." I said. "Well, it's not ok. I should've talked to you about your boundaries before even thinking about doing that." He said. "But-" "No. I want to make sure you are comfortable with our relationship and what we do with it first." He said. "Ok....." I began. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "When do you wanna talk about it?" He asked. "Whenever." I said.
We got to my place and to my surprise, he decided to talk about 'boundaries' then.
After the awkward half hour of us sharing our 'boundaries' he left. I got a shower and changed, soon after going to bed early.
No more school.
That meant I could sleep in.
Finally.
The next morning.....
I sat up, hearing the birds chirping next to my window had woke me up. "Can you not?" I asked them, knowing they couldn't hear me behind the dang window. They continued as I groggily walked to the kitchen to make tea and toast for breakfast. It would be lonely in the mornings now. No Minato, Fugaku, Mikoto, Inoichi, Choza, or Shikaku.
I mean, I love them all, but it's good to be alone sometimes.
I made a list of what to do to waste time.
•Clean house up
•Make some desserts
•Invite people to hang out
•ChillIt was simple. I began cleaning as a knock was heard from my front door. I ran to the door, leaning the broom against the wall. It was Minato. "Hello." He said. "Hey! Come in!" I said, opening the door more to invite him in. "Sorry for the mess, I'm just cleaning the place up a bit." I said. "No, it's fine." He said as he walked in.
I finished cleaning up and sat with Minato at the table after making some tea for us. "So, it's summer now. We're done with academy. In a week, we get our headbands at the ceremony." Minato said. "Alright." I said. "I was going to invite you and the rest of the group over for a hangout or maybe sleepover or something. Do you think they'll want to go?" I asked. "Of course!! They love these kinds of things but nobody has had He time to throw one recently because of final tests at school that we've been studying for. I know I'm down for it!" He said. "Alright! I'll get ready to go and tell them!!" I said. "I'll come with you!" He said as we both ran to get our shoes on and next thing I knew, we were out of the house.
We ran to Inoichi's, Shikaku's, Choza's, Fugaku's, Mikoto's and told them the deal. Choza couldn't make it due to family coming over, and Shikaku was just getting over a sickness but said he would try and make it.
Minato went back home to get all of his stuff ready and I went home to make desserts and other foods for the sleepover.
This was going to be the best time I've had for a while.
