Graduation

An early chapter because tomorrow morning is gonna be busy. Enjoy!!!

I cleaned up from the party. Man, did everyone make a mess of the house!? I had to vacuum at LEAST three times. I washed the dishes as I hummed. I did simple cleaning that was needed around the house. I should find an outfit for tomorrow. I thought. It's graduation. I have to look nice.

I looked through my closet, looking for something decent to wear. I finally found a nice mint green dress with a small flowing tail in the back. I found a white coverup because it was supposed to be a little windy. I braided my hair and looked in the mirror to see if it looked ok. It actually looked pretty good.

I set it all out on my dresser for tomorrow and got a shower. It was already 7pm. I got things ready for bed and went to sleep. Tomorrow was graduation.

I woke up and got breakfast ready. Tea, eggs, toast, and maybe a dango stick, just for today. I finished eating and cleaned the dishes and got changed and did my hair. I had a half hour until we needed to be there. That'd give me time to sit for a few and read then leave.

A knock was heard at the door to my surprise. I opened the door. "Minato??" I asked. "Hey." He smiled.

He was in a navy blue button up. He didn't do his hair, which I liked because I love his messy spiked hair. "Why are you here? I mean, it's good to see you but why?" I asked. "I came to pick you up and take you to graduation." He said. "I see. Ok. I'm almost done. Let me just grab something from my room. You can come in if you want." I said, turning to go to my room.

I closed my bedroom door and I panicked. Why am I panicking!? I asked myself. Oh yeah, it's graduation and I'm going to be the only one here with no family or anyone to congratulate me. I thought. I took a deep breath before letting my anxiety take over me.

I grabbed a necklace so it didn't look like I was lying to him and put it on. I walked out to see him waiting patiently as he looked out the window. "I'm ready." I said as I walked closer to him. He kissed my forehead. "Beautiful like always." He smiled as he grabbed my hand and we left.

We stood next to each other as different names of our classmates and other class students were called as they stepped up to where the Third Hokage stood, handing out certificates to each student as they walked up.

"Shikaku Nara."

"Inoichi Yamanaka."

"Fugaku Uchiha."

"Mikoto."

"Choza Akimichi."

"Minato Namikaze." I saw Minato freeze as his name was called. He shook it away and proudly walked forward and came back.

"Kushina Uzumaki." I stood there. I don't know why, but I was petrified. Minato grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Go on. It'll be ok." He whispered. I sighed and walked forward as Minato let my hand go.

I got to the Third. He looked my straight in the eyes and smiled. "Congratulations. I'm very proud of you and I'm sure your parents would be too." His hoarse voice said. I smiled as I nodded a thanks and took my certificate and walked back to Minato.

The graduation ceremony ended and everyone went home with their parents as they were congratulated. I sighed and started walking home. "Kushina!!" I heard Minato shout. I looked behind me. Minato, Rasuto, and their parents were there. Minato walked to me as I walked to him. He hugged me as I returned it.

"I'm so happy for you. I'm just so proud of everything that you've done, Kushina. And getting to be your boyfriend!? I honestly feel honored." He said into my ear. He released the hug and looked at me.
Next thing I knew, his lips were on mine. HE KEEPS KISSING ME WHEN I LEAST EXPECT IT AND I DON'T KNOW WHY!!!!!!

Rasuto ran to Minato's side just as he stopped. "Kushina! Congratulations!!" He smiled. I felt warmth running down my face, tears. "Thank you." I said as I felt Minato wipe my tears. His parents came over and they all hugged me. "I know it's hard, Kushina, but if anyone can fight through this....it's you." Minato said.

They all comforted me and even took me out for dinner. They made sure I was ok and walked me home. It was a long day. The ceremony lasted from 2pm to 5pm because this year there were so many students.

I took a shower and got ready for bed.

I slid into my warm covers, soon after hearing a knock on the front door.

Who would want me at 8:30 at night? None other than Minato and Kasuto Namikaze. I got up groggily as I answered it. "Hey. Sorry to wake you. We just wanted to make sure you were ok. Kasu here thought something was off even though you had only met a few times." Minato said. "I mean, I guess I'm ok. A few things have bugged me but it's nothing." I said.

"Are you sure it's nothing, Kushina?" Kasuto asked.

".....I-I gue-" "I guess won't do. Talk to us. We're here." He said. I sighed and let them in.

I talked to them about how I had a small panic attack before I left and it was still making me anxious at the ceremony and afterward. I told them about how I blame myself for my parents' death.

"Kushina, first off, you are considered family to us. You can always come over if you feel that something isn't right here or just whenever you feel the need to be with us. Also, don't feel bad for your parents' death. It wasn't your fault! Just promise me that every time you blame yourself that you will reject it." Kasuto said. "Ok. Thank you." I said.

"He's better at this than I am." Minato laughed.

"You're still pretty good at it." I said.

"Kushina, I just want you to know that one, I look at you like you're my sister that I never had. And two, I'm glad you met my brother and you guys have gotten so close." Kasuto smiled. "Thank you." I smiled back.
