Our school got moved to a different place, and the old building became abandoned. I decided to go and visit it. The people who were moving the furniture were already there. They only moved a few things, not everything. I was sad that they were changing up the place, since I've had too many memories there.
I went quite early in the morning, so it was quite cold. Thankfully they let me come in. There were some students helping out , so I got to explore all the places I hadn't been too. Everything looked so weird empty. I went to the back of the school, that's where everything hit me. The most things. The graffiti Jimin did two years ago was still there. Almost like time had just stopped.
" Oh, you're here too?" I heard a familiar voice coming from behind me and I turned around. It was Jimin, he was wearing a beanie and a mask, but I could recognize him from intuition.
"Hey." I said. He and I haven't talked too much during the summer, so I was awkward with him once again. " I just came because I heard it will close down, so... Are you going to come to school during the year?" I asked.
"Not too often." He said and pulled his mask down. "We'll have tour, so..."
" Right." I nodded. " Did you come with Jungkook?"
" Yeah." He said.
" 10 months of you guys dating now, wow." I laughed, gulping nervously. " That's long. Congratulations."
" Thanks." He told me.
" I'm sure he loves you very much." I felt awkward asking that, almost like my old feelings started creeping back.
" He is wonderful." He smiled. He looked so in love just talking about him. I wondered if I could ever feel that way about someone.
" I'm still searching for the one." I chuckled. " But I am not allowed to date."
" I don't think I have ever had a dating ban." Jimin shrugged, turning his head back to look for his boyfriend. Jungkook ran over to us immediately. He looked so comfy in his black black oversized hoodie and sweatpants.
"Hi." Jungkook pulled down his mask.
" We are going to my grandma's house." Jimin said." Do you want to come?"
" If I am not bothering." I shrugged.
" Of course you're not." He told me.
" Okay, then." I said. I felt like Jungkook wasn't too happy that I was around. I wasn't really sure how he felt about me.
The bus stop was in front of Jimin's grandma's house. His dog immediately ran over to us and jumped on him. The two boys ran upstairs for something, and I just sat down in the kitchen. I was silent for a couple of minutes, but I thought maybe starting a conversation would've been more respectfu.
" How many times do they visit?" I asked Jimin's grandma.
" They visit quite a lot nowadays." The old lady said and gave me brownies.
" Do you think they are cute together?" I laughed.
" Absolutely." She smiled. " They are adorable, but they can be really loud."
There was some laughter coming from upstairs, and then the two boys finally came down too the kitchen. Then Jimin's grandpa arrived. " Jiminie!" The man opened his arms into a hug and Jimin ran over to him, accepting the hug.
"Hi." Jimin said.
" When are you guys leaving for tour?" His grandpa asked.
" The day after tomorrow." Jimin told him, taking a bite from one of the brownies on the table.
" And Jennie, how are you doing?" His grandpa asked me, noticing I was there. " I haven't seen you in a while."
" Oh, I'm feeling decent." I smiled. " Thank you for asking."
He told turned his head towards Jimin. " I'm going outside, do you want a cigarette?"
" Why are you asking him that?" His grandma groaned.
" I'll pass this time. " Jimin shook his head, his mouth full with the brownie. I wondered if he still smoked. His grandpa nodded and decided to stay inside this time.
" Do you guys have any ice cream?" Jungkook stepped over to the freezer.
" Strawberry, caramel or green tea?" The old lady asked.
" Oh my God, all of them!" Jungkook laughed, sitting down next to me at the table.
Jimin bent his knees and whispered something to Jungkook, thinking I wouldn't hear it. My eyes almost popped out of their places. " Babe, do you have condoms?"
" It's in my bag." He answered.
" Why do you need a condom?" I grimaced, imagining what they were planning to do.
" None of your business!" Jimin replied, feeling awkward. And muttered something along the lines of: " It slides inside easier."
" Didn't ask for details." I said. " It was a rhetorical question, genius. I can hear, too."
I walked outside through the backdoor. I sat down in one of the swings, and the dog started sniffing me.
" Hi, remember me?" I smiled at the dog." You've seen everything, didn't you? Do you like Jungkook or me more?" I laughed, muttering to myself. " You're obviously not going to answer. Dogs don't have so many problems as humans. Love can be so good, but also so horrible and painful. That's not how it is for dogs. You guys don't even need a lover, and you're happy. Maybe we should take an example of dogs."
Suddenly someone tapped on my back. I turned my head around and I saw Jimin. " You're giving a ted-talk to the dog?" He laughed.
" Yes, and where did you leave your sidekick?" I asked, reffering to his boyfriend.
" He's eating ice cream." He told me and sat down in the swing next to me. " And I'm bored."
" By the way..." He said and quickly changed the topic. " I had this weird dream that I was marrying Namjoon hyung... And it was you and my seven year old cousin was there? Then my cousin turned into you and I was like, what the fuck..."
" Did your thoughts get mixed up?" I laughed.
" I don't know..." He smiled. We sat in silence again, both of us feeling awkward to start a conversation.
" Did I make you feel uncomfortable when I liked you?" I asked.
" No, I mean..." He shrugged, probably trying not to say the wrong thing. " You're human. You have feelings. You had no idea I liked Jungkook, so... Don't feel bad about it."
" I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable, I was just stupid." I shrugged.
" Actually..." He laughed. " When we first broke up, I had a conversation with Jungkook and I kissed him... And when I was dating you for the second time, I guess I was kind of hoping he would date me if I broke with you."
" But it's different, because he liked you too." I told him. " Nobody has ever really liked me back, so I might end up alone, with dogs and cats. Maybe I'd get a monkey, too."
" A monkey?" He asked.
" Yeah, or a parrot." I said. " At least I could talk with someone and not be lonely."
" You know you'll always have me as a friend." He told me. I wished that was true.
Suddenly I got a call from my manager. I let out a sigh.
"I gotta go, sorry." I told Jimin and stood up from the swing. He gave me a hug. " Thanks for being there for me. I love you." I told him feeling an odd need to clarify what I just said. " You know, like friends."
" I love you, too." He patted my back and I pulled away from the hug.
"Bye." I smiled.
"Bye." He told me. Well that conversation was awkward.
