Looks like fall is coming. It's going to be cold outside. But it's okay, cold never bother me anyway.
Ohh~ I feel so Elsa.
"Let's go, sleepy head. We're going to miss the bus" Hanbin got up from the dining table as I'm still staring outside the window, watching the leaves turn brown.
"Be careful okay, Hanbin" My mom patted his back as he smiling happily. I got up and put on my sweater. "Take a good care of our Jinhee"
"No, mom. I'm the one who take care of him" I glared at him as he faked an obvious fake laugh while looking at my mom "Of course not" He smiled at her, making her trust in him. "Let's go!" He grabbed me to move quickly.
"Hanbin-aa," I called him, thinking about something. He hummed, I know he's listening. "Have you ever smell something so sweet? It smell so good and attractive and sooo seducing" Honestly, I don't know how to explain.
"Are you talking about human?" He questioned me. "Yes" I nodded.
"Kwon Jiyong?" The accuracy left me in shock. With my widened eyes, he knew the answer. "How do you kn--?"
"I smell it too" He cut my sentence. I thought it just me. "Gosh, he's sure delicious. The smell of his blood told everything" He acted like a freaking creepy monster.
"You're crazy. You're talking like you had drink human blood before" I joked as I chuckled but, he didn't laugh at it. He stay silent as if he's admitting it.
Hmmm, suspicious.
"Kim Hanbin," I looked at him full of concern. "No way! What are you thinking?" He grinned, showing off his white teeth.
Clearly he's lying. Sigh, I'm not sure. Because sometimes when he's telling the truth looks like he's lying. He's hard to predict. Let's just hope he didn't.
Or he might be in a big trouble.
"So it's the smell of his blood?" I asked again. He nodded confidently, "Yes,"
"Smell of sweet blood. It's smell of Rose"
Rose?
---
"Aren't you cold?"
He took a seat beside me, both of his hands in his pocket. I put away my tomato juice, I'm finish anyway.
"You're the one who looks cold" I scoffed. "Why are you always coming here? You know it's forbidden" He asked. But you always come here too.
"It's nice here. I know you know, since you're always spend time here too during recess" I spoke, talking casually to him. "I always saw you alone. May I ask, why?"
He didn't answer me. I guess that's a,'no'. He really make things awkward, only the wind can be heard. Oh boy, you looks so cold, curling yourself up that way.
"Look", I moved closer to him, not to close cause I can't warm him up anyway. "We've been in acquaintance phase for almost a month. Why don't we move on to the next phase?" Because you looks so lonely and always alone.
"I don't know you can talk this much. You're like a different person when I first met you"
He chuckled softly. What? Is he joking or what? I'm trying to be nice, okay! I cleared my throat and moved away from him to my first place. He just humiliated me; in a very kind way.
"I don't know you can talk this much either!" I rolled my eyes, looking away.
"I'll think about it" He got up and left; always like that.
"It's really something you have to think first?" I muttered. It took me a while until I asked myself the same question.
Jisoo, she's always trying to get close to me. Plus, she's kind too. Also, Lisa and Chaeyoung.
"I'm not that different from you"
---
"Jinhee!"
Jisoo exclaimed when I entered the class. She grabbed my hand to her seat, smiling widely.
"I didn't see you at the canteen. Did you have your lunch?" She asked worriedly, rummaging into her white backpack.
"Here!" A bun.
"In case you're hungry" She smiled beautifully.
"I'll think about it"
"Thank you" I smiled at her. She seemed so satisfied when I accepted her warm gift.
Am I really doing a right thing?
-Flashback-
"Hey, new kid. Let's go play together"
Their pure smile and laugh attracted me. They're kind; human. And I decided to join them.
But time really does fly. They changed. They're bad; human.
"You're vampire, right?"
"How dare you want to play with us?"
Vampires have feelings too. How could you treat me so differently?
-End-
Since then, I decided to become a loner. I don't care if I don't have any friend. Because they can bring harm to us; vampires. Even the closest one.
But look at me now, staring at the bun. I was fluttered with her kindness. Is there really kind-hearted person; like Jisoo in this world?
Or they are just kind because they don't know what exactly am I?
I was so cold to humans before. Maybe, just maybe, this is a new start? To start the new me that I wish for. To have trusted friends and live happily, just like a person.
Yes, new me.
"It's really something that you have to think first?"
What?
I slowly turned to my left. He already looking at me. What again?
"You're going to eat it or not? Sir will come in any minute," He spoke "Eat it while you still have time" He looked away to the window. I smiled at him, a real smile, even though he didn't see it.
You're right, Kwon Jiyong. Let's go for it while I still have time.
This is it,
the beginning of the new me."Thanks, Kwon Jiyong"
"What?"
I giggled at his confused face. Don't ask. It just that you gave me some inspiration.
---
"Jisoo"
It really does take courage to change. But it's fine. I'll make it, just slowly, one thing at a time.
"Can I ask you about this question?" I asked when she turned to me. Well, she considered as a best student but, that's not the main reason I'm asking her. She looked surprise yet happy at my present at her desk.
"Sure!"
Her excited voice tells us all. She made me feel welcomed. I'm really thankful.
Thanks to you too, Kim Jisoo.
