"YOU'RE FUCKING KIDDING ME."

Over the phone, Bae Suji couldn't sound more gobsmacked at the news her best friend was telling her. Silence ensued immediately before she could say anything more. It was the morning after the boisterous prom night; a morning of shocks upon waking up and realization.

"So all of this happened and you're telling me today?"

Minatozaki Sana rolled her eyes in an animated fashion — as if Suji was next to her — and kicked her legs up. She lay comfortably on her bed with the phone nestled on her ear. "It happened yesterday. Anyways you failed to pick up your phone last night."

"Okay, apologies," Suji responded in the least apologetic tone ever, "tell me how the kiss was. Is he better than Chanyeol? Were there sparks? Does this mean you two are going to date? I want everything."

"Okay, okay. So the kiss was surprisingly good. Chanyeol sometimes tends to bite my lip which is uncomfortable but no lip biting yesterday. It's too early to say who kisses better but this was a good start for Baekhyun. Sparks? Again, too early to say. And uh..."

An awkward tension followed subsequently after the kiss. The pair created a symbolic gap between them though their legs were touching on the bench. When he took her back home, they tried to make things as normal as possible but that would prove to be very difficult. Being the gentleman he usually was, Baekhyun pulled her into a goodbye hug but it lingered a little longer than it needed to. Sana found herself dreading removing herself from his arms.

"We really haven't discussed anything," she finished with a flourish once answering all of Suji's interrogating questions.

"Anyways I envisaged this happening. I knew for a damn fact Chanyeol wasn't shit and Baekhyun is much more suited for you. If you two decide to date I'll even be the priest at your wedding. How about that?"

Sana sniggered at her friend's encouraging words but then frowned. "I don't know if I could ever do that to Naeun, though. She's liked him for ages and though we're not on good terms I couldn't ever be a shady person and date the guy she likes."

"You're a better person than she is, for sure," Suji mumbled, "and it's admirable you still acknowledge her feelings even though she's not valued yours as much. Speak to her about it. Naeun's a weird character but she's at least thoughtful. There's no harm in trying."

"I guess you're right. It feels a bit icky if I go from one guy to another. Maybe it's not meant to be between Baekhyun and I."
