"CHANYEOL'S IGNORING ME."
Minatozaki Sana frowned as she announced this to the puzzled Byun Baekhyun sitting across from her. It was their weekly study session hosted in his bedroom, a very mind–boggling worksheet focusing on the benzene structure left unfinished.
Baekhyun set his SHINee inspired fountain pen on the table and leaned back on his chair. "Is it because of what happened yesterday?"
Sana shrugged, "most probably."
"I wouldn't worry about him ignoring you. He's quite impulsive and tends to act rash at the start until he actually comprehends that he's overreacting. Wait it out."
"I don't want to wait it out, Baekhyun," she pouted in disdain, "we haven't even gone on our first date and things have already begun crumbling. What if he's ever angry at me again?"
He sighed at Sana's persistence. He'd hoped the first thing he said would've worked to tide her over. Clearly not. "Trust me?"
"You seem to always ask a lot from me."
"For your own good. Look at yourself now, getting worked up over something this small. Chanyeol will get over it."
She let out a forlorn sniff, "you see, I'm not exactly the greatest person in controlling my emotions. This is the first time I've had an actual shot with a guy I really like. I just don't want to lose it."
When she bowed her head down to hide the tears threatening to drop, her mind swarmed with prospects of her and Chanyeol's blossoming relationship ending, Baekhyun moved his chair forward to sit right in front of her. Tapping her knee delicately, he pulled a face.
"Hey," he whispered with no avail. Sana was too busy wiping away seemingly forbidden tears. This would be the second time she broke down in front of him and that was terrifyingly humiliating. She had a counsellor for a reason! "Sana, look at me."
She shook her head, knowing full well the moment their eyes met she would explode into a puddle of tears. The one thing she hated more than anything in her harrowing life was seeing pity. She hated people pitying her during the most vulnerable moments. "No."
"Sana, honestly just look at me."
"No."
Baekhyun rolled his eyes and placed a finger under her chin, pulling her head up. Though most of her face was covered by hair, he still saw the obvious tears which had slid down her cheeks earlier. Just like her, he was affected easily by emotion and felt saddened just looking at her depressed self. Throughout their weekly sessions she'd always been bubbly and outgoing but this was a complete contrast.
