I put down the book that I was reading once I heard footsteps, Peter was sleeping on the couch so it was no big deal. When I looked up captain William Dodd's the Deputy Chief or known as Mike's father.
"Chief Dodd's." I smiled as he walked in. He handed me flowers and smiled a small bit.
"There's are for you." He sat down on the chair next to my bed. "How are you feeling? I came yesterday but you were asleep like Peter is now." He chuckled.
"Thank you, there pretty!" I said smiling as I smelled them, I always loved flowers. "I feel like I got shot." I chuckled. "Pain still here but I'm getting through it I'm glad you came."
"Well you are like a daughter to me since you and Mike were little kids." Me and Mike were best friends growing up it wasn't that we drifted apart we just both went separate ways.
"I heard he made Sergeant you must be really proud huh?"
"Super proud." A smile came on his face, a smile that I'd wish my dad would have given my growing up. Hell my father never wanted me to become a cop and he still doesn't. "But there's one reasons why I came here."
"Which are?" I said as I pushed my self up so I could be up better. I closed my eyes in pain for a moment and reopened them. "I'm fine." I said as he had a worried look on his face.
"Now it should be he any minute." He pulled his phone out, looking at something on the screen. I raised my eyebrow and looked at him.
I faced my attention to the hallway and there was Mike walking towards my room. I got up out of bed and ran over to him ripping my IV and all the wires out but I didn't even realize cause of how excited I was.
"Mike!" I squealed like I always used to do. "Is this really you." I smiled as I hugged him.
"Yes." He smiled. "I heard what happened, I'm just so glad your okay." He smiled, as we broke away from the hug.
"Now lets get you in the be-" He said but got cut off but a nurse yelling at me.
"What are you doing Katelyn?! What happened to your IV." Uh ohh. I broke away from the nurse and looked at Mike, he just slightly chuckled.
"I-Uh-I-Uh..." My words just drifted off to the side. I heard a loud bang making me jump falling to the ground. I covered my eyes and ears.
"Sh sh...your alright, I promise I have you now." Someone said as they hugged me close. "Your okay honeybun."
I realize that voice from anywhere and I knew that it was Mike Dodd's. I wrapped my arms around him, staying close.
"The nurse wants to get you back into bed all hooked up. Can we do that?"
"Please don't leave me." I begged afraid for my life now. "I don't wanna die." Tears ran down my face.
"Your not going to die okay? Peter and I got you." He lifted me up with him and I held onto him not letting go.
When we came back into the room, Peter was still sleeping, peacefully. He hasn't been getting a lot of sleep lately cause of me being over and being a burden.
"Can we get you anything Katelyn?" The nurse asked me as she was checking my wound out and cleaning it and putting a new bandage on.
"Some frozen yogurt will be fine please." I smiled softly. Mike sat down on the side of me when the nurse left.
"You deserve so much better then you already have. You deserve someone that is going to love you."
"I have someone. Someone who loves me for me, and who will always loves me no matter what. And I know it would be against regulations to date him, so I won't date him no matter how much it will hurt me." I sighed softly.
Mike looked over at Peter and I knew he knew. "I'm a sergeant, I know it's against the regulations but I'd go for it, if you love so much don't let them go because before you know it, they'll be gone."
I nodded listening to the conversation, maybe he's right. If I wait to long then it will all be gone all of this will be gone and I couldn't lose Peter either.
