{12} Its just me against the world

I sat at the family dinner table eating my food, I listened to the conversation that was getting made, but I wasn't focusing my attention on it cause I didn't think it was important.

Or maybe it was I just wasn't paying attention at all, which was a normal thing for me because usually I never paid attention, because it was always someone attacking someone.

"You and Peter, huh?" I heard Danny's voice say breaking me out of my thoughts. I chuckled slightly. "What are you two?"

"Peter and I our just friends. I've been staying at his house for a while since I'm just comfortable and safe there." Maybe I've grown on Peter Stone but I'd never let them know.

Beside Peter and I our both going through our own personal stuff. Peter and I will probably never be together.

"Dating someone who works with you is never a good idea. You'll see him 24/7, if you fight it's not like you can avoid him cause you'll see him at work." Jamie said. I nodded my head in agreement.

I mean look where I lead Erin and her Ex. They worked together, got married and had my beautiful niece Nicky, but they ended up getting a divorce and what? They still have to work together.

Look at James and I. We worked in the same career both a Detective. We didn't work out, well maybe not everyone has a happy ending, and that's what scares me the most.

The difference is, is that I want to settle down with someone, I want to get married, I want to have kids. I want to do all of that stuff, because all of that stuff matters to me.

I mean Danny and Linda are married and have kids. Erin has a kid already. Joe has a fiancé Angelia, and me and Jamie are both single, well Jamie's fairly young so he still has time.

"What are you thinking about sis?" I heard Jamie say. I faced my attention to him and to everyone else.

"Oh, nothing." I lied, lying was one of the things that I was great at. I felt my phone vibrate, I stood up and took my phone out looking at the caller, it was Sonny. "Excuse me." I said as I walked out of the dining room.

"Hey Sonny, what's up?"

"Bella is giving brith come on hurry up to the hospital." I heard the excitement in his voice, I could basically hear the smile.

Him and Bella has always been apart of my second family. Which I always appreciated.

"I'll be right there." I slipped on my coat and ran out to the car and drove to the hospital.

"Awe." I said as I stood next to Sonny as he held his new born beautiful niece. Mia Morino. That was her name, she had the last name of her father.

"I want you and Sonny to be the godparents." I looked at Sonny as I could see a smile appear across his face.

"Yes we would love to." Sonny spoke for him and I. Sonny handed me Mia and I held her close. I smiled in awe.

"Hi little fella..it's your godmother and your auntie Katie," I smiled as I talked. "I can't wait to spoil you rotten." I giggled, as Sonny wrapped his hands around me. "Uncle Dominick is going to be so overprotective of you. Just don't grow up to fast." I can't wait to have my own kids. I just need to find the right person.

I handed Mia back carefully. "She's so beautiful and precious."

"Yeah, she is." Bella said as she handed Mia to her fiancé Tommy. "So when do you plan on her kids?"

"Oh," I chuckled. "I haven't thought about it, I'm living the single life right now."

"Someone likes you." Bells smiled. "You just have toe wait for the right moment to realize it." I nodded my head in agreement.

"Hopefully soon because I want to live my life, I want to get married and have kids and have a family of my own. Sometimes it feels like I'm married to my job." I sighed sadly. "I mean look at mostly everyone on the force. Olivia has her kid Noah, Amanda has her two kids, and Finn has his kids, and me...what do I have?"

"You'll have that soon, I promise," Bella smiled and it was a smile that gave you hope. "It takes time soon it will come."

"I just hope so."
