Stars appeared to be missing from the vast sky. Cloudless yet on occasion water would fall from the air. Jason tried to keep up with Yavier as he ran across the vast distance they had to cover. Mud began to from on the dirt roads, as the move about.
"Lilly's impressive, that giant lighting bolt?" Yavier replied, leaping over a fall tree.
"Actually." Jason corrected.
"That was you?" Yavier smiled, "You can use magic without a focus?"
"No, me and Lilly figured out I'm an enchanter." Jason replied, trying to catch up to Yavier.
Yavier nodded, "Nice. That makes my life easier."
"So, I'm coming in with you?" Jason asked.
"If you feel comfortable doing it." Yavier replied. "I could use the help."
Jason nodded, "Then, I'm in."
The two found the place Richter had debriefed Yavier on earlier and broken-down crypt. Stone pillars were broken down on the sides, a structure was once there, now completely gone. Tile lied where there was once a large floor. The decrepit place was on its last limb. Stairs of stone lead their way down into darkened hall ways. Jason took a step forward, as Skeletons raised from all around them.
"You ready kid?" Yavier replied.
"As ready as ever." Jason replied, Gripping the pennies in his hands.
Yavier's sword cut through the rotting bones of the skeletons with fair easy, watching the torsos crawl around on the ground. Jason flipped a coin in the air letting it land on the ground as another bolt of lighting came down, slamming into three nearby skeletons.
"Dang." Yavier stated as he signed a force spell, "That's impressive, given your skill."
"Thanks." Jason replied.
Yavier finished mopping up the bone walkers as the two gentlemen descended the stairs into the dungeon below. Yavier grabbed a bone on the ground, as he signed, turning the bone on fire.
"Here," Yavier said tossing the bone over to Jason, "Don't lose my light."
Jason grimaced, "Only a human's bone..."
"Seriously?" Yavier turned back, "Can't your disgust wait?"
"Trust me, I wish I could." Jason replied.
Yavier gave out a sigh, as he rolled his eyes.
Both continued forward through the dark corridors. Jason was on edge, and Yavier was almost too calm. It was as if Yavier had done this before. The man walked with confidence, his every step was firm, on edge ready to face anything. He was experienced.
Yavier grabbed the bone from Jason as he turned a corner. Moaning was heard as a small group of zombies came towards them. The tombs of these poor undead had been uncovered, and their corpses forced to serve this lich.
"Pleeeeeeeaaaseeee" One shouted out, crawling his way forward, "Forgive meeeeeeeee."
Jason leaped back, "This is freaky! They talk!"
"Of course, they do! Their zombies." Yavier replied, as he cut one in half, "You expected them to be as mindless as the skeletons?"
Jason felt guilty for not knowing that, as Yavier continued to clear the zombies single handedly. His sword swung around to take one's knee out, along with his arms. There were only two more when Jason entered the fray. He had taken the bone torch from Yavier as he slammed it into one of the zombie's head. The bone sunk deep into the skull, dropping the undead creature.
