Brian's P.O.V.
My mum, my dad, and I have moved into a new town. The place we lived in before abused animals. Definitely not a good place for vegans like my family. There were dogs tied up to chains, starving cats, and dead birds everywhere.
And worst of all, they would kill the badgers in our area. Badgers were, and still are, my favorite animal. Well, they would also kill the deer and foxes, BUT THE BADGERS.
We never moved sooner because we didn't have enough money. But now that we have enough money, we can move to a better neighborhood.
We now live at the end of a street called "Charm Street". So far, everything is going fine. I feel safe here. Hopefully people aren't as abusive as they were at my old place.
"Why don't you go ride your bike around town? We still have to unpack some boxes. Go out and get some fresh air," my mum says. "Okay," I respond.
I take my rusty bike out of the garage and start to bike around the street. I look around at all the houses when all of a sudden I hear my bike run over a piece of paper.
I stop to see what it is. It's a pink flyer. It says a new band called "Queen" is looking for a guitar player. "Hey I play guitar!" I say to myself. "What a coincidence."
I pick up the flyer and walk my bike back home.
"Back so soon?" my dad questions. "I found a flyer for a band called 'Queen'. They need a guitar player and I'm gonna audition," I say to my dad. "Good job, Bri. Making friends already," my dad says with a smile.
I pick up our phone and dial the number. The person on the other line answers quickly.
"Hello?" the person asks. "You're the people looking for, um, guitar players?" I ask shyly. "Yes, we are," the man says happily.
"Um, well, uh, when do you want me to come ove-," I say before the man cuts me off. "As soon as possible," he says quickly.
"Okay!" I say excitedly. "See you later then," he says before hanging up.
I get my guitar from my bedroom and call out to my parents before walking out the door, "I'm going out!"
I look at my town's map and look for the address on the flyer, and I start to pedal away.
As I start to bike farther from my house, I see two people come out of there house heading towards a pink car that looks like it's from the 50's.
"Who has a 50's car in the 70's?" I ask myself. Even though it looks like an old car, it's very shiny and clean.
"Whoever owns that car must really love and care for it."
The first person that comes out is a short man about my age. He has light brown hair that reaches his shoulders. He randomly stops midway to the car and looks at me. I start to slow down to see whats going on right when the second person comes outside.
She's probably is his girlfriend. It's a pretty blond wearing a cute black skirt, a white long sleeve blouse, and two black bows in her hair. I can tell she's one of those girls who doesn't wear makeup because they're naturally beautiful.
She stops, looks at me, then back to the boy, then looks at herself, and then looks back at me. Confused, I just smile and wave. "Just smile and wave. Be nice to these weird, random people that happen to be your neighbors," I say silently.
It looks like I made her happy because she blushes and smiles and waves back. As I start to pedal away I feel myself blushing.
"What a beautiful girl," I say biking away.
