Black Hat tapped his fingers at his desk impatiently as he scribbled on the paperwork. He was stressed, very stressed. He had just found out about a new outburst of heroes and how they're trying to take him down. They wouldn't win, obviously, but if Black Hat wins then the more experienced heroes will come along and mess everything up. "New year new nuisances." He growled, finishing the last of his business work. In the rare about of spare time he had, he decided to look outside the window and check to see if anything interesting was going on besides fireworks. Every few nights there were sometimes battles going on in the night sky, usually between hero and villain, but occasionally a good villain-on-villain fight. Tonight however, Black Hat didn't see one. Instead he saw a giant ball of pure light falling from the sky, it seemed to be at least the size of a large boulder. He simply thought of it as an odd meteorite and left it at that.
Meanwhile, Y/n was burning across the dark sky, drawing attention to many residents below. She was closing her eyes tightly, ready for the impact on the group as she smashed the earth below her, making a large crater in the earth. She had landed in a small forest, which was now mostly demolished by the impact. Y/n was curled up in the crater, her pink tank was the only thing keeping her warm, and she needed to find a warmer area or she would get frostbite on her wings. A soft light glowed in the distance beyond the tall, dark trees. Y/n started to make her way to the source to see if she could find any warmth for her body. Moving quickly, she sped through the many bushes and leaves until she was finally close enough to analyze where the light was coming from.
It was a small, dimly-lit building with the words "Villain Darke's Cafe" written on the sign in front. Y/n hoped that someone, anyone would be be inside. Coming to the front of the glass doors, Y/n peered in. She saw a young lady with skin as pale as snow. Her hair was pitch-black with deep red streaks running up and down it, her eyes matching.
Y/n knocked on the glass, waiting for a response. Vineme Darke, the woman inside, looked to the door. Noticing Y/n, she quickly went over to the door. Darke opened the door
"Hello Miss! What can I do for you on this villainous New Year's?" She greeted with a smile. Y/n took in a breath. "Hello, I am Y/n Sunday, a researching angel, and I am here for exactly 365 days to ensure that Earth is safe enough for angels to start inhabiting again." Y/n braced herself for the many negative responses she could receive, but Darke just smiled. "My, an angel! I knew those wings weren't just prop! Come in, come in; I am Villain Darke. I'll teach you the basics of living on our marvelous planet!"Darke led Y/n into the cafe. Sitting down at a table. The loud boom of fireworks and lights flashed through the windows.
"Okay, first of all, Y/n, I have to ask this question- I don't mean to be offensive in any way, but, I am a demon. What are you angels planning to do with us as soon as you all inhabit Earth?" Y/n gave a small nod in understanding. She explained that ever since God has left Heaven, angels have confessed to never really liking the whole demon-angel war era. Now that the Heavenly father has disappeared, the angels are free to their will. "So basically, you angels are NOTHING like the textbooks described you as?" Y/n shook her head. "And I'm sure that our bible has had you demons wrong as well." She chuckled. They conversed for awhile at the small table and slowly started to form a bond. Y/n found the fact that her first hour onto Earth, her first friend happened to be a demon. A friendly one at most."Alright, Y/n. Now that I know you won't zap me to pieces, I think you should know the basics of Earth," Darke said, looking for Y/n's approval. Y/n nodded. "I think I'm ready." Darke nodded back. "Good. Okay, so first of all, Most beings on Earth are either Villains, Heroes, or Bystanders. I myself, am a villain. Villains usually practice the act of revenge, ruling of world's, and other malicious tasks. Heroes are the stuck up, goody-two-shoes that try to stop us villains. Basically it's a school and it's the naughty vs good kids. It's a mess, but it's a living." Darke explained. Y/n processed her thoughts. "So if you are a villain, why haven't you tried to harm me yet?" Y/n questioned. "Why that's because you actually took time to get to know me! Most others go around stereotyping us villains... we are really nice once you get to know us. And villains have to stick up for eachother... and I'm also hoping you'll join us in our villainous acts." Darke answered. Y/n chuckled. "Personally, I think I am in the middle with all of this 'hero' and 'villain' talk. I have yet to meet a hero." Y/n stated. Darke smiled in understanding.
Darke began to explain how the currency worked, how Y/n would have to earn money to stay, and ect. Y/n listened intently, and what she got from it was that she needed a job.
"Ms. Darke, I've picked up on how I am in need of a paying job, but I have no idea who would hire me... I mean, I have just arrived on Earth, I have not a clue what I am to do!" Y/n shot. Darke thought for a minute, then a wonderful idea formed in her head. "Well Y/n, I have a small business myself, and I have a few open positions." Darke suggested. Y/n's eyes seemed to glow. "Really? For me? Oh dear, Ms. Darke you have been too kind to me! Are you sure you are a demon?" Y/n bounced happily from her seat, her wings fluttering behind her. "Of course Y/n, I'll show you everything later.. although I'm a bit exhausted right now. I'll be in my bed, you may come with- I think I have a spare bed." Y/n gleamed. "I would like that very much Ms. Darke." She chirped, and followed Darke downstairs.Inside Darke's room, there were two small doors. The first was metal, sealed with a coded lock, the second was less intense, a simple door that looked like the one they came in from. Darke led Y/n into the second door.
"You can sleep here until you find a vacant home. You can personalize it however you like," Darke chirped. She looked to the other door. "That one leads to my laboratory, I might show you what's inside later." She continued with a wink. Y/n got settled inside of the warm sheets. There was a digital clock beside her that read 3:12AM. She pulled out the golden notebook that was gifted to her and began to describe her first few hours in great detail. She noted how demons were to be allianced with and that they are far from what the textbooks described them as to be. She then signed the book, and the message disappeared. It reappeared in the same exact copy of the book, but instead sat inside a glass case, ready for the angels to document each and every one of the 365 days Y/n would stay on this Earth.
