And so she lies awake,
Her cheeks stained with tears;
As she thinks of all she's lost.
Her heart still breaks,
And her eyes still weep,
But you can't bring people back
Who've willingly walked away.
And what about those who have left this world?
For she hurts over them too.
She wishes she could have them all back,
But nothing lasts forever.
Her voice hoarse and her ears ringing,
She whispers "Come back,"
As another tear slips down her cheek
One that she does not bother wiping away
And her heart breaks some more
Because she knows that the people she loved have said goodbye
Goodbye is forever.
