The light is falling
Soft edges sulking around the horizon
Streaks of pink and red and orange across an otherwise blue sky
The light is falling and as I look at this sunset I see you
I use the light to paint your picture in the sky
So that even the heavens know you exist
I take from nature what I can
Angling you so that when the light catches your eye you see beneath those beautiful brown
A forest in which you are the moss between my toes
The leaves high above my head.
You are the canopy of trees in which the light shifts through
The light is falling
