Do not tell sad girls to smile unless you are ready for her wounds to open as tear stained cheeks split with a grin so wide, teeth so bright, sunlight bounces off of them and bouquets grow from her lungs only for petals to die from lack of oxygen
Petals turning brown, wilting at your fingertips, crumbling into dust at your touch
Deep breaths she takes only to suffocate on leaves and choke from the stems blossoming in her stomach roots taking home in her heart burying themselves in veins where blood seems to spill and she cries tears of perfumed sugars
Her blood so thick, it clots at the thought of you. Her sobs so heavy she coughs up pieces of green and her cries become wails for all of nature to hear.
Do not tell sad girls to smile because you do not understand why she is frowning. You do not know what she hides under those downturned lips. You are not the person she wishes to smile for.
You lost that right when you caused her smile to become fake, you are not able to tell her to smile when you are the cause of her frowns, a sad eyed look ever present because of you. You who wishes to make a home out of her smile
You however cannot take home in her lips, make them yours when they are not and when they are not you are not permitted to get upset because you feel as though you are entitled to see her smile
You are not entitled to see anything. You are not the king of the castle in which her teeth are hidden. You are not the overseer of her happiness, the director of her emotions. You do not get to see that ear splitting grin, you do not get to fawn over a smile that speaks thousands of words a minute, brings audiences to their knees in applause
Do not tell sad girls to smile. Unless you are ready to reap the consequences of your actions. Feel the burden of guilt on your soul as she smiles with tears in her eyes because you have decided to make a mockery of her
A mockery of how she feels. How she cannot smile without it hurting because her smile brings back memories she wishes to keep hidden deep inside of her. Memories of you in which you were the root of her happiness the very light that shined from her
So do not tell sad girls to smile. Because they will bite you. And smile red.
