Chapter 4

It was 9: 30pm and guddan was sitting on the sofa waiting for him but there was no sign of him.  Had maa been here she would have called her lalla and asked about his whereabouts but she can't do it given he had already hung up on her.

After 2 minutes he entered and she stood up.

Guddan:  aap aagaye.  Aap fresh hojaye main khana lagati hun.

Akshat:  main dinner kar k aaya hun.  With that he went straight to his room. 

Guddan had tears in her eyes but she controlled and went straight to the kitchen.

Flashback
When guddan was back home she decided to make dinner for the two of them.  A special dinner with all his favourite dishes. She with all her enthusiasm prepared the dinner and decided to wait for him. 
Flashback End.

She cleaned the kitchen and put all the dishes in the fridge and did not eat anything because she didn't like to have her dinner alone. She was standing in the kitchen and clock struck 11. She decided to go back to the room and rest as it was her final viva tomorrow and now she had no expectations that he would do or say anything.

When she entered the room he had changed and was working on his laptop. Just then guddan's phone rang and it was Aarti.  A video call it was.  Guddan smiled and sat on the bed and received the call.

Aarti:  bhabhi free ho gaye aap log aur bhaiya kahan hai.

Guddan:  wo yahin hai.  Aur free hogaye ka kya matlab hai.

Aarti:  kuch nahi. Pehle dikhao bhai kahan hain

Guddan:  turned the back camera and akshat waved at aarti.

Aarti:  Arre back camera nai ek saath aao na aap dono.

Guddan looked at Akshat and moved to his side and flipped the camera.

Aarti:  haan ab lag raha haina perfect.

Now rest of the family comes into the camera and guddan sees revti.

Guddan:  aaru ye revti kya kar rahi hai wahan tum sab k saath.

Aarti laughs hard and guddan looks at Akshat.

Aarti:  aap log abi bi kuch nai samjh na. 

Akshat:  Aaru kya matlab

Aarti: Arre hum to kuldevi gaye he nai thay.  Hum to bhabhi k maayke main thay subah se.

Guddan:  par kyun

Nimisha:  ab aap na zyada bhole mat bano guddan di.

Akshat is irritated and asks angad ye sab kya hai.

Angad:  bhai maine kuch nai kiya hai ye sab aapki aaru ka plan tha

Akshat:  what plan.  Aaru kya baat hai

Aarti:  ye sab chodo. Angad bhai, nimi bhabhi,  maa,  revti di wo karte haina jis k liye humne phone kiya tha.

Everybody says yes and they together shout "HAPPY 1ST MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARY"

With that they disconnected the call and there was uncomfortable silence in the room. Guddan took her night clothes and went to change. Guddan understood everything why her family had decided to leave suddenly early in the morning.  They wanted to give them some alone time and guddan laughed through her tears as she realised he didn't remember it at all and she was unnecessarily waiting throughout the day.

In the room akshat thought he could have at least wished her. He remembered how guddan's face had dropped after the call.
