Chapter 6: Mourning

"What?!" I yell startle them to which I quickly apologize. "We received the news as you slept..everyone knows." Ichimatsu says and I nod but froze. Jyushimatsu! My thoughts scream before I run off to find him. I bump into Todomatsu and quickly asked where Jyushimatsu was.

He seemed to understand why I wanted to know as he looked saddened. "We were working outside, trying to, when Jyushimatsu ran inside. I assume he is in our room." I nod "I'll go talk to him. I'm so sorry about-" he cut me off "just go. It's fine, it's not like it's your fault." I gave a sad smile, thank him, and rush to their room.

I knock on the door but didn't get an answer. So, even if it was rude, I let myself in. There I saw Jyushimatsu sitting, knees to his chest and face hidden in his arms, on his bed. I walk over and place a gently hand on his shoulder. He looked up and I saw tears still leaving his eyes. My heart broke and I sat on the bed.

"I heard. I'm so sorry." I say softly and he whines, leaning against me. I just pull him into a hug. I rub his back and whisper "it's okay" over and over as he cried onto my shoulder. I push his bangs up a little and kiss his forehead softly. I knew that truly it wouldn't be completely okay but it's what he need to hear at this moment.

-2 weeks later-

My parents paid for the funeral with heavy hearts. Even though the didn't know their parents it didn't make the funeral or burial any less sad. My mother, an emotional woman, was crying as my father held her. The brothers held one another as they mourn the death of their parents, apparently only relatives they had. I held Jyushimatsu as he cried out for his parents.

I myself was crying. I hadn't met them but I was shown a picture of them with the brothers. They seemed like kind people.

The whole estate was sullen. Katelyn was silent. Garroth had to help Choromatsu calm down in the kitchen. Travis tried his best to comfort Ichimatsu and/or Karamatsu as they would be close to collapsing. My parents gave Todomatsu and Jyushimatsu the day off, they offered to the others but they declined. So I spent the time with Jyushimatsu. My boyfriend.

I hated seeing him in so much pain. He wasn't crying as bad now but only because he couldn't. So he held onto me until he could be fine on his own. Though I didn't mind how long it took. Even if it took a hour I just want to see him happy again.

After a while I heard him give a shaky sigh and look up at me. I look down at him and smile. "You get it all out?" I ask and he nods. "It still hurts. But I feel a little better." He says snuggling into my neck. I pull him back and kiss him softly.

I pull away and he smiled "I love you Jyushimatsu." I say letting his head lay on my chest. "I love you too y/n."
