We all looked at the officer surprised. All except my dad who stayed calm. "During our search through the brother's room we found the medicine bottle." I froze and looked at the brothers before looking back at them. "You sure it was the same medication?" I ask and they both nod. "The bottle was empty as well." Chibita adds and I furrow my eyebrows.
They couldn't have. They wouldn't.
"Well..who is the culprit then?" I ask and Gene looks over the brothers "your father said the bed where we found it belonged to Jyushimatsu."
My heart stopped and I went wide eyed. "What?! Okay that can't be right! Why would Jyushimatsu or any of the brothers do it?!" I exclaimed and Gene reached into the pocket of his uniform, pulling out a necklace.

"My necklace." I say in quiet tone and Gene hums "So you can clarify that this is your necklace? The one that went missing?" He asks and I nod "yeah it's mine." I say taking it from him. "Your highness we found this necklace in the same place we found the bottle." My face went emotionless "Now was Jyushimatsu ever in your room." Chibita asks and my dad chimes in.
"He should've been unless given permission. His work resides in the garden." He sounded mad as he looked at Jyushimatsu with narrowed eyes. "Yeah..He has been in my room." I say hesitantly and glance at Jyushimatsu who had stopped smiling and looked afraid. "Out of the brothers...He was the only one who I showed the necklace to."
"We were also informed that Jyushimatsu and you have a close relationship." Chibita starts and Gene continues "we believe he may have been trying to get close to you, trying to get you in a vulnerable state, in order to steal and take advantage." You could probably hear my heart as it shattered within my chest. I turn to Jyushimatsu "is this true?" I ask in shaky voice and he shook his head.
"No no of course not. I would never fake loving you or anything like that. And I never stole anything in my life." He says stepping forward "watch yourself Matsuno." My dad said in a low tone. "Then why was my necklace in your room?!" I shout as I tremble with tears in my eyes. "I..I don't know." He mumbled and I look down.
"I'm used to people using me. Faking friendships just so they can be close with royalty or to steal from my family...but you..you.." I whip my head up with tears leaving my eyes "I trusted you! I trusted you with my feelings! I trusted you with my love!" I shout before crying into my hands.

"Y/n you know you can trust me I wouldn't have done that. I would never steal from anyone let alone you." Jyushimatsu says reaching a hand out but I step back and look at him. I shook my head and ran off to my room. He tried to follow but was stopped by my dad. Katelyn also ran after me. I rush into my room, slam the door and collapse at my bedside. I grip the bed sheets as I wailed loudly.

My heart was in pieces and it hurt. Deep down I wanted to believe Jyushimatsu and help prove his innocence but at the same time I couldn't find myself to believe him because of the past. That's what hurt the most. That I couldn't believe him. I heard the door open and footsteps approaching me. My breathing was unsteady as I was enveloped into a hug.
"Sh~ it's okay y/n" Katelyn coos comfortingly and I whimper as she pets my head. "I'm sorry this happened." I turn around and hug her, sobbing softly into her shoulder. "That's it let it out. Let it all out." She coos while rubbing my back to soothe me. I look down at the necklace and clutch it to my chest while placing a hand over the necklace Jyushimatsu had given me. "Oh Katelyn. I'm so stupid." She tensed and shook her head.
"No. No you aren't." She says and kissed my forehead "I promise you aren't. I swear this is be fixed." She says and I look up at her "you and I both know Jyushimatsu is innocent. Me and the others are going to prove his innocence." I smile shyly "o-okay." I say and hug Katelyn tightly.
