Chapter 12: Mother's Comfort

A week has passed now. Queen Nana was able to leave bed but when she learned the news of what happened she rushed to her daughter's room. In the girl's room y/n was sat on the bed staring at Jyushimatsu's gift to her with a sullen face. The estate was lonely to y/n without her Jyushimatsu. Her boyfriend. Nana walked up to the anguished girl and hugged her.

"Oh y/n, I'm so sorry. You must be heartbroken." She says trying to comfort the girl. She laughed dryly "more like shattered..Katelyn and the others are trying to prove his innocence but they haven't found anything." Y/n says in a dead tone before tearing up "I want to believe him. To believe he is innocent. But it's hard." Nana sighed and kissed her daughter's temple.

"I know honey. It can be hard to trust people. To trust if feelings are genuine or not. Especially with the status we have." She says "but" she had her daughter look at her "there isn't a doubt in my mind that he loved you." Y/n looked at her mother with a curious face. "How can you be so sure?" She asks and Nana smiles with a soft laugh.

"No matter how hard one may try. You can't fake the look on his face or glimmer in his eyes whenever he was with you. I would know."

"How would you know?"

"It's the same look of curious fascination and love that your father gave me that faithful day." She says with a small blush as she remembers the memories of her youth. Y/n blushed hard at her mom's words. "He truly loves you. Believe me, I know he does." Y/n looks down in thought before whipping her head up with a smile.

"You're right mom! There's something I need to say to someone! Thanks!" Y/n shouts before rushing out of the room. Leaving behind a smiling mother. A mother who was very proud of her daughter.

I ran through the halls to Ein's room. I was going to tell him he didn't need to be here because I was going to tell my dad that I wanted to give my love to Jyushimatsu and only Jyushimatsu. I knock on the door and was meant with the smile of Ein. "Hello princess. How can I help you?" I smile and ask if we could talk. He nods and steps aside to let me in.

He closed the door and I turn around with a deep breath. "Ein. I am sorry to say that you will not be my suitor." I say and he hums "oh? Why is that?" He asks and I smile softly "because my heart has been won already. Jyushimatsu is the victor." I say and his eyes widen "eh? But he was arrested for attempting to poison your mom and he stole your necklace. You mean to tell me that you still love him?" He asks and I nod.

"He didn't do it. I realize that now. I've always known I just didn't let myself believe it. Even if he did, he is the one I love and he always will be." I say and he raised an eyebrow "but he did do it. Look at the evidence!" He yelled startling me a bit but I stood my ground. "I don't care." I say and he groans.

"Y/n. The evidence was in his room. On his bed. Under his pillow. How is that not good enough proof that he did it!"

I froze and look at him with a shocked expression before narrowing my eyes. "How did you know it was under his pillow?" I ask and he says "the officers said-" I cut him off

"They never said specifically where they found the evidence."
