It's been 2 days and I was frantically looking around my room. "Um. You okay?" Katelyn asks from the doorway "No! I can't find my mom's necklace! You know the one she gave me and trusted me not to lose it! The one that's been passed down throughout the years!" I exclaimed and she went wide eyed "Well you may have misplaced it. Let's look for it together." We looked for hours and still couldn't find it so I sat on the bed with my head in my hands.
"Mom is going to be so upset." I whimper and Katelyn sighs before she hugged me gently. "No she won't. Just tell her you can't find it and she'll have us keep an eye out. Believe me Kaw- I mean, Nana will understand." I sigh and hug Katelyn "Thanks Katelyn." She hums and we stand up. "Now come on it's time for dinner." I nod taking her hand to stand up.
She lead me to the dinning room where Garroth, Choromatsu, and Osomatsu were setting the table. I shyly walk up to my mom and tap her shoulder. She turns around and tilts her head "What's wrong honey? You seem upset." She asks and I look down "you remember that necklace you gave me?" I ask and she nods "the amulet? Yeah I remember. Why?" She asks and I rub my arm "I lost it." I say looking down in shame.
"I look all over my room but couldn't find it." I say with a nervous tone and she pats my head. I look up to see her smiling "it's okay. I'll inform the others to keep a look out. I'm not mad." She says and I smile before hugging her tightly "Thanks mom. I love you." She laughs softly and hugs back "love you too sweetheart." We pulled away just as Choromatsu set my mom's drink down. I smile at him before going to sit down..by Ein.
I didn't know what to say. We didn't really talk much in the 2 days he's been here and I'm usually outside with Jyushimatsu anyway. "So Ein. How are you settling in?" My dad asks and he hums "oh. I'm settling in very nicely. You have a very kind staff." He says and my parents nod. "Y/n was the one who agreed to hire the brothers. I'm happy she did." She says as she took a drink.
"Yes the brothers were the ones I noticed immediately. Peculiar that they all look the same." He says and I laugh "yeah it is. I thought it was strange too at first." I say with a small smile. I guess Ein isn't a bad guy it's just hard to talk to him sometimes. I look up at my mom as she groaned. I saw her holding her stomach with a sickly pained look on her face.

"Nana are you alright?" My dad asked and I was on edge as I saw she started trembling and sweating a little. "I..I c-can't..my stomach" she cut herself as she suddenly threw up causing me, my dad, and Ein to shoot up from our seats. My dad held my mom as she struggled to breathe. "Osomatsu, call a doctor!" I exclaim and he rushes off to do so.
I rush to my mom and help my dad move her to their room where my dad waited by her side while I went out to wait for the doctor. As this happened the others, who didn't see it, wanted to know what was going on and what happened. I just yell "My mom is sick!" before I ran outside. I was pacing hard as I wait and both Jyushimatsu and Todomatsu walk up to me.
"Y/n What's going on?" Todomatsu asks and I turn around. Their faces filled with concern "y/n you're crying!" Jyushimatsu exclaimed and I hugged him. "Something happened with my mom. She threw up all of a sudden and couldn't breath. I think she is sick." I say with a whimper and he hugs me tightly while stroking my back "it's okay. I'm sure that she'll be fine." He says and I whine softly.
Jyushimatsu kept hugging me while Todomatsu kept look out for the doctor. When the doctor arrived we rushed him inside to my mom. I saw that the others including Ein had gathered outside my parents room. I let the doctor in but he advised that I stay out of the room. I was having none of that and rushed in before he could close the door.
After checking her he diagnosed that she had overdosed on Codeine and begun the procedure to pump her stomach. I was shocked along with my dad. She couldn't have overdosed. She was always so careful with medicine intake and she hadn't even taken medicine with Codeine for weeks. Which ultimately meant that she had been intentionally overdosed by someone.
Someone tried to poison my mom.
After the procedure my dad sent me out of the room so he could talk with the doctor. So I exit the room and broke down when I shut the door. Katelyn, Jyushimatsu, and Ein all ask what was wrong and if my mom was okay. "She's okay. The doctor said she has to stay in bed for a week though. But she..she overdosed...on Codeine" I say and everyone exclaimed "What?!"
"But She is" "usually careful with medicine. I know. Someone else caused her to overdose...Someone tried to kill my mom." I say and that's when the door open and my dad stormed out. I saw that he was heading to the phone. Then the doctor came out and turned to me "make sure she stays bedridden for up to a week. Also make sure she eats and for the time being limit her to drinking water." He says and all of us nod. He nods "I hope you catch who did this." He says before leaving.
