I stare at her apprehensively. Millie. Huh. Her name doesn't quite for her punk appearance. I look at her closely for the first time. I notice a yellow sunflower tattoo peeking out of her tight fitting shirt, gracing her collar bone. She has many piercings as well, matching green double pierced studs in her ears and small silver studs stick out of her cheeks, where dimples would be. I'm sure she has other tattoos and piercings on her body, but they're not visible.
Behind her, the large orange man is curled up on his side in the fetal position, snoring loudly. She grins, flashing her fangs at me.
"I know, I'm pretty badass right?" She tosses her head back and laughs, "I promise, I'm not going to hurt you." Casper's head pops over her shoulder. He's grinning too. I don't think I've ever seen him smile like that before. I look away, realizing I'm still shining in all my silver, statuesque glory. If strange silver girls could blush, I would be. Millie's borrowed clothing hugs my skin tightly, accentuating my curves and making me very uncomfortable. I don't really know what to do. I haven't had human contact in weeks. Then I realize Casper is saying something to me.
"Wait what? What did you say? " I ask, my voice sounding hoarse.
"I said we should probably go now. We don't know how long it will take them to sound the alarms about intruders," Casper says, looking over his shoulder. Before I know what I'm doing, I'm running straight for him. I wrap my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. He resists at first, then wraps his arm around my waist and buries his face in my hair.
"Umm... Excuse me. Although this is sweet, we really need to go," Millie says, sounding slightly annoyed. She fidgets with her hands, biting her lip hard. I spring away from Casper, assured that I'm blushing bright red. I wonder what that looks like against my metallic skin. Casper doesn't look over at me, but wraps his fingers around mine, warming them at his touch.
Millie walks carefully towards the door and my mind wonders. This is what a snake looks like walking. I giggle quietly and Casper looks over at me strangely. I shrug and turn my attention back to Millie. She grips the handle uneasily. I don't know what she's so afraid of. She opens the door and the person standing in the hallway is someone I haven't thought about in a long time. Fresh hatred courses through my blood. Andrew James Hall.
