Casper storms out the door, leaving me behind. I quickly follow behind him and shut the door to Professor X's office quietly. Casper is way, way ahead of me and I would've had a hard time spotting him without his white hair. I pick up a light jog, attempting to catch up to him in the now crowded hallway.

Teenagers litter the hall. Once again, I notice some odd things. A guy with short blonde hair walked into a shadow and appeared on the opposite side of the hall, beginning a conversation with a girl with green stripped hair. There's a gluey, white monster person gliding down the hall, conversing with another blue, fury person. Many kids look normal, but I now know that's not exactly the case.

Casper turns left, making his way through the throng of people. I quicken my pace, falling in step beside him.

"What's your problem?" I ask him, glancing over at him briefly.

He rolls his eyes, but doesn't respond. His quick pace holds as we make our way down the hallway. This hallway has doors on either side, some with posters of names and drawings on them.

"Alright. Don't respond that's cool too," I huff, crossing my arms.

The crowd of people has dissipated, leaving a couple stragglers, Casper and I alone. Casper suddenly turns and pushes me against the wall.

"You think I don't like you, Scarlet?" he says, his voice breaking slightly over the words. His eyes are the same crystal blue but there's something else there. Something I can't quite decipher.

"Uh.. What? What do you mean?" I croak, my cheeks heating up.

"You don't think I like you," he drops my arms, but doesn't step backward.

I force myself to keep my eyes on his face, watching him. He lifts my chin up with his fingertips, staring into my eyes.

"Trust me. I haven't stopped thinking about you since I met you," he whispers.

With that, he crushes his lips against mine.
