THE SUN IS LIKE AN STROBLIGHT, shining through the clouds, glowing and shining brightly. I have decided to walk to school today, although I don't feel very well. The only thing on my mind is that I have to take the test today - to see if I belong in my faction or not. I wish I didn't but, I'd rather be an abnegation rather than be factionless.
When I reach the school limits I immediately spot the Dauntless, and I feel like I dot belong once again. But that's when I feel Tobias grab my hand, I smile up at him and we walk through the doors. We split off our separate ways - Me going to faction history, and him mathematics - I sigh and walk alone, hearing snickers from the candor and threats from the dauntless.
Its noon - lunchtime - I walk through the crowded hallways in search for the cafeteria doors. When I find them I see a group of Dauntless blocking the way to open the doors,
"Oh look, the stiffs trying to get in. Hey James, should we let her in." he asks they man next to him. He shakes his head - no - and I start wondering what happened to the crowded hallway. Theres no one - except the Dauntless men - I almost expect a tumble weed to blow down the hallway, until someone interups my thoughts.
"Hey guys, let her go. Theres food to eat, not people to hurt." He says,
"Whatever, Uriah." The man says and they walk into the doors, like nothing happened.
I enter the cafateria and take a seat by Susan, Caleb and Tobias, not feling hungry.
"Where were you?" Tobias asks, leaning closer to hear me. I shake my head. i fold my arms and set them on the table resting my forehad on my forearm. I take a shaky breath and wait for the tests to start.
"Testing will start now. Listen for your faction and name, thank you." The intercalm sounds across the room, and i sound everything out aiing for my name to be called.
"Beatrice Prior."
I stand up and walk over to the testing room. Inside theres a chair that looks like something a dentist would use, and a tall lady dressed in black - Dauntless - shes pretty.
"Welcome. Lets get started." She pulls out a srynge and fills it with a cloudy gray looking liquid.
"The test will determin if you willbe factionless or not. So think like the abnegation."
"The test will take affect sixty seconds after injection. Injection sight is on your neck. Be brave Beatrice."
I close my eyes and feel the prick of the needle and wait for the test to begin.
I stand in the middle of the sidewalk, looking around. I start walking on this unfamilliar path and get stopped by a factionless man. He grabs my arm,
"My, dont you have pretty eyes." I look down.
"Do you happen to have any food?" he asks, i nod. I dig in my bad and hand him some dried peaches. He grins,
"Thank you. Do also happen to know where i can find the Prior familly, i have some buissness to...finsh with them." He says, an evil glint in his eye. I shake my head.
"No i dont, i have no idea."
"Dont lie to me, little girl. I dont think you want to see me angry." I nod.
"22nd Selfing street. 8765." I lie.
"Thank you. Now run along, i expect to see you very soon." he says, evilily.
I run down the street and the test ends.
