{Full Chapter}
Seungmin let out a breath in the cold night air. It was only 8:15 as he walks down the streets to the cafe he told Hyunjin to meet him at. He was nervous. What if he's not what Hyunjin imagined him to be? What if Hyunjin doesn't like the way he looks?
Seungmin was going to just tell Hyunjin never mind, and that he wasn't, but it was too late, because he was already in front of the cafe. His hand was shaking when he reached for the handle and pulled it open.
It's warm inside, and it smells of coffee. It has a calm atmosphere and it gets Seungmin down to a calm level. He looks around but he doesn't see Hyunjin. Seungmin decides to get a drink for himself.
"One strawberry bubble tea please." He says shyly. The lady behind the counter nods her head and begins making his drink.
His head spins with thoughts ranging from I wonder if Hyunjin is even prettier in person to does my hair look alright? Will he think I'm ugly? Will he stop talking to me after this? He is always self conscious. When he was young his father would yell at him calling him stuff such as "pig" "ugly" "fat" "worthless" and more.
Just when Seungmin's drink was done, he saw someone sit down next to him. It's Hyunjin. "Are you Seungmin?" The boy asks, his voice is soft and gentle.
Seungmin nods at his question, his eyes focused on the table. He sees Hyunjin's smile grow and his heart nearly skips a beat. His smile is so beautiful. That's all that goes through Seungmin's mind.
"You're really pretty, Minnie." Hyunjin says looking over at a blushing Seungmin. Seungmin hide his face in his hands.
"Stop it!" He wines. Hyunjin chuckles, resting his head in his hand. He admires Seungmin. From his pretty soft brown hair, to his soft squishy looking cheeks, his lips, his eyes, his hands his body. He focuses back to Seungmin's eyes. Their a light brown. Hyunjin can see the stories they hold. He can see the pain he went through. All the suffering his mother and father put him through. He can see the love he has for his sister. And then, he can see himself.
"You're smile is so pretty, Minnie." Hyunjin admires when I sees Seungmin smiling. Seungmin shakes his head laughing and then looks at his feet.
"Jinnie..." He whispers. Hyunjin hums, looking down at the boy. "Why...do you.. Want to be my friend?" He asks. Hyunjin was taken aback by the question but answers as soon as he processed what was said.
"Because you're nice, you're funny, you always make me smile. I love talking with you. You're someone I feel like I can trust. And you listen." Hyunjin explains. Seungmin looks up at Hyunjin and smiles.
"T-thank you." He whispers.
"Of course Minnie." Hyunjin says. He holds back the words he wants to say. Seungmin isn't stable right now. He needs a friend right now, not a lover.
"Do you wanna go to the park for a while?" Seungmin suggests getting up and pays for his drink he got. Hyunjin nods.
"Sure."
"Do you want anything before we leave? You didn't order anything when you came in, and I'd feel bad if you didn't at least get a drink before we leave." Seungmin asks. Hyunjin shakes his head.
"No thank you. Now, let's go." Seungmin nods, and they both head our the Café. The walk on the side walk. It's dark outside. The street lamps that are on are the only things lighting their pathway, and the occasional car that pass by.
As they walk, they slowly make their way closer to each other. Their shoulders are brushing each other as well as their hands. Seungmin's tempted to hold his but doesn't. He doesn't want to be told off is Hyunjin didn't want to do that.
"Seungmin," Hyunjin starts. Seungmin looks up, showing he has the boys attention. "Can I... Hold your hand? If you don't want to, that's completely fine. I just... Really want to." Hyunjin says. Seungmin nods shyly looking down at his feet, then at their hands. He watches as Hyunjin laces his fingers with Seungmins. He smiles, looking at the ground, a light blush staining his cheeks.
"I like this.." Hyunjin says. Seungmin looks up, confused.
"Like what?" He asks. Hyunjin let's out a breathy laugh and Seungmin coos at him.
"Being with you." Hyunjin says, looking over at Seungmin. Seungmin smiles, looking up at Hyunjin.
“Me too, Jinnie.” He says. When they reach the playground Seungmin goes to the swing set and sits on one of them. He looks over at Hyunjin who is making his way over to Seungmin slowly.
“Do you want me to push you?” Hyunjin asks, standing behind Seungmin. He holds on to Seungmin's waist gently, he pulls him back a little and lets go. Seungmin giggles, letting Hyunjin push him for awhile.
Hyunjin is in pure bliss, listening to Seungmins giggles every time he comes down. It’s adorable and Hyunjin couldn listen to it all day. He wouldn’t admit that though, not yet at least. He knows Seungmin is in pain. His mother left him and he’s left to take care of his sister. Hyunjin promised that he’ll help Seungmin with anything he needed help with. He knows it’s not easy working so many jobs and having to pay bills and buy food and take care of a human being above all. He wants to be able to help Seungmin with money, food, and his bills. He wants to be there for Seungmin whenever he needs it. He won’t confess to Seungmin yet. But when the time is right and he knows Seungmin likes him back he will.
“Hyunjin?” Seungmin says, stopping the swing and turning around in it so he’s facing Hyunjin.
“Yes, baby?” Hyunjin asks. Seungmin blushes for what seems like the hundredth time today.
“Can you come home with me?” He asks. “And...Stay?” Seungmin fiddles with his hands in his lap. Hyunjin smiles.
“Sure, let me tell my parents.” He says. Seungmin nods, looking around the dark park. Hyunjin walks away to call his mom, leaving Seungmin by himself.
“Why did I invite him over?” Seungmin whispers to himself. He started to freak out because he has never had anyone ever. Not even his closest friends. Reason being because his house is usually a mess, mostly due to his mothers’ drinking, but the other half of it because his house needs renovation. The floors need to be redone, the walls too. It’s not that it looked really bad, but it was to the point where Seungmin was embarrassed about it.
“Are you ready to go home Seungmin?” Hyunjin asks walking up to Seungmin. Seungmin nods slowly standing up.
“Yeah, let’s go.” He says. Hyunjin takes Seungmins hand again and they begin walking to Seungmins house.
Seungmin breaths in and out, trying to calm himself. It doesn’t matter, he thinks. Hyunjin isn’t the type to judge. Seungmin looks over at Hyunjin one last time before focusing on their journey home.
