Why, Hermione?

Hey guys. I wrote this when I was rereading Deathly Hallows (again) and this is a scene that I firmly believed happened right after Ron came back. I literally could not get this out of my head.

"Why are you so angry at him, Hermione?" Ron came back, saved my life, destroyed a Horcrux, and apologized. What more do you want?"

Hermione turned to face him, her arms still tightly knitted together. "I don't care if he destroyed all of the Horcruxes and drafted Voldemort, he was gone for weeks! He could have been dead, for all we care!"

"Hermione-" Harry started.

"No. He left us, Harry." Hermione's red eyes looked watery, and Harry saw something he had never seen in her eyes: Pain.

She was probably the strongest out of all three of them, but somehow, Harry realized, Ron had always been the one that would hurt her emotionally. Sure, she'd snapped at him, and stuff, but besides the third year, it had always been Ron and Hermione bickering like an old married couple. Honestly, was he really that

Hermione took him lost in his thoughts as a way to end the conversation. "He comes back thinking that that stupid smile of his will make everything alright." She said coldly. "I'm going to bed, and I'd like not to be disturbed."

With that, she walked off, leaving Harry wondering what else he had missed.
