Chapter 16

Nandini's POV

After a nice hot bath ,I got ready wearing my turquoise colored lehenga ,with some jewelries.I was glad I was able to be all girly girl as I had to be a boy for next six months.Since Gurukul was six hours drive from this place we had decided we would hire a cab day after.

Manik whistled looking at me " Hmmm not bad Ms.Murthy you look stunning like always,but please dont tie that bun,your hair needs to be let free " He came and took off the clip holding my bun ,and caressing my hair softly " So beautiful and silky "He kissed my head and let me go.He seemed to think he owned me,ugh why can't I just resist him.He tempts me.

Soon we reached the venue to be welcomed by his big happy family everyone hugging me like I was thier buddy.I was overwhelmed with the warm and loving aura.

When I met his dadi I was reminded of Amms compassionate ,loving and caring.I just loved her the moment I met her.I met the groom who was getting married and all of Manik's cousins.Maddy was polite and friendly as usual but was hesitant to talk to me,may be because of his brother.Manik's dad seemed like a serious man he hardly talked and his demeanor was all business so I just talked to him the least.Manik's mom wasn't in the ceremony I didn't dare to ask anyone.

After dancing for hours and savoring almost all varieties of food ,we all retreated back to our places.

Naina joined us in the morning along with her boy friend.
The marriage ceremony was incredible,I had never seen this big wedding ,it was a grand affair.Manik was dressed in sherwani,which made him look hot , making all the girls swoon whenever they saw him.He was finding excuses to come and talk to me and touch me affectionately making all the girls jealous.I blushed even though I knew it was all a show off making me sad for some reason.

After some time he suddenly came and kissed me hard on my lips " Act along princess I don't know how but Aliya is here and she is searching me everywhere,if she sees me kissing you she will think I am taken ,please act along baby," saying that he kissed me harder.I was too shocked to react.I saw Aliya glare me intensely with a warning sign,now I was scared for my life,she rushed outside the room.I pushed Manik away "She is gone" placing my hand on my hip ,I narrowed my eyes "Don't you dare call me princess and don't you dare shove your tongue down my throat ,I don't care about your girlfriends you dont bloody own me ,I seriously am getting fed up with this act.why can't you just tell her once for all why do you keep giving her mixed signals.Or is she that dumb that she doesn't get any hint?" I fumed I was red with anger.

"Listen,I know I am asking for too much,but I will resolve this soon you keep calm ok " saying that he left.I was beyond frustrated.

Naina came and sat beside me."Nandu ,I am noticing from many days what's going on between you and Manik ? Don't you think you should tell me everything honey " she raised her eyebrows in accusing tone.I myself was totally confused what was going on between us." Just Manik being stupid arrogant jerk,nothing new though " I tried to avoid long talk about him.

"Really now? It doesn't seem like nothing come on dear you tell me everything you can't hide from me,your beautiful face has lost its charm from many days ,something is definitely bothering you.We will go and sit there beside the pool,nobody is there you can tell me everything " saying that she dragged me near the pool and we sat on one if the pool chairs.Because I was feeling very low I explained her everything that had happened to me since the day I left for Gurukul,I sobbed uncontrollably saying I was the biggest fool to risk everything just to follow some dream which sounded stupid now.She hugged me tightly soothing with her warm words.She did not judge me.

"Listen sweety , I understand it was something really unlike you ,but you are still too young to understand that and wanted to achieve something ,moreover your dad almost emotionally blackmailed you for marriage.I am sure he didn't mean that ,but implied something like that and you took drastic step ,though a risky one still nothing like a crime okay,I would have done something similar,as we both are soul sisters" ,I smiled when she said amongst both of us she was the compulsive one,and I was rather practical cool headed girl,but offlate I myself felt different about me.

"What do I do now? " I asked her wiping my tears."Go there kick Aliaya's ass and make sure she doesn't come near your Manik ever again." she smiled." He is not mine,he is just enjoying the chase " She chuckled heartily
" Oh baby I know my darling sister when she lies,there is something very deep going on between you two ,I have seen the way he looks at you it ain't nothing.You both are too stubborn to realize what's going on.Take your time to understand him and then decide if it's too early for you " she patted my hand.

" Well ,I don't understand him at all ,all we do is fight for one moment and next moment he is kissing me senselessly ,"  I blushed remembering the kiss.

"Hmmm not bad for non lovers ,you will get there missy don't lose hope I have your back and I love you my dearest sister " She hugged me tightly  ,I already felt so relieved almost making me forget everything that had happened.We talked for some more time and went back to enjoy the ceremony.I did not see Manik or Dumbliya for the rest of the evening and I did not care.I enjoyed  sight seeing Delhi with Naina and Rohit and we had lots of fun.I did not go back to Manik's place as I had got all my luggage and stayed with Naina.

I ignored his calls and reached Gurukul on my own.He did not come for the whole week and I still ignored his calls.I was back being Nandan and this time extra careful so that nobody would catch me like Manik did.He came after a week fuming at me for ignoring him.I gave him silent treatment ,attended my classes and workshop and came back to my room only when I saw him leave with his friends.I slept before he came back.I followed the same routine for the rest of the week ignoring and avoiding him as much as I could,but I knew I had to face him soon er or later and it wouldn't be all good.When the weekend arrived I dreaded for the deadly encounter.

Friday night I was in my room watching movies.He came and sat beside me ,took my laptop almost threw it on his bed.

"What's your problem Nandini , I don't like this attitude of yours and stop being stupid boy for godamn sake I know who you are ,take off this hideous disguise of yours," He removed my baseball cap and let my hair free ,he took off my glasses.

"Now what you want to take off my dress as well haan ,is that so ? " I yelled at him.

"Nice idea ,let me help you " He fell on top of me started tickling me mercilessly ,after I couldn't take it anymore "Stop Manik ,now talk whatever you wanted to" I said controlling my breath as I was totally out of my breath after the laughter riot.

"Why did you come alone ? We were supposed to come together right ? I called you so many times,why do you trouble me so much princess ? and guess what I missed you ,yes I bloody missed you.If you had stayed there you would have understood what I was going through,did you know Dadi fractured her leg after she tripped and fell down the day we were supposed to travel.But you had to run away like always.You are so selfish sometimes Nandini,"He got up and sat on his bed closing his face with his palms.

I went near him " I am sorry Manik ,I hope dadi is fine now.It was never my intention to hurt you like this,but you have to understand I did not know this would happen right ,we did not meet after marriage you disappeared and disappointed me ,I couldn't stay there with you ,I have some self respect ok ,and dont you dare call me selfish" I patted his back and came back to my bed.

" We are so toxic for each other,yet I want to be with you" He mumbled carelessly which  caused tears in my eyes.I did not reply to him I just tried to sleep which couldn't come any sooner.
