Chapter 17

Nandini's POV

I was rattled by steady ringing of my alarm,turning to my other size to dismiss it I accidentally dropped the water filled glass.Manik woke up cursing out loud and wiping his eyes,he saw the mess gave me a bored look and went to the bathroom.Huh seems like old monster Manik is back,as if I care.I cleaned the mess, made my bed and waited for him to come out.

After he was freshly bathed ,he came out shirtless and I turned my face to the opposite direction.We seriously need some boundaries.
"Look Manik,We need to discuss some rules,you do not roam around half naked.Not at all or else I will..." I stopped mid way thinking what do I complain it would bite me back.

" Or else what?" He asked coming towards me.

" Umm Nothing actually , see ya " I ran to the bathroom.Once I was fresh and dressed I came out and started combing my hair to tie the bun standing in front of the mirror ,I was glad I had this privilege of getting ready here in the room as opposed to in a tiny bathroom.Manik came behind me " I guess you are confused what to complain ,would you say hey I am a boy but this boy comes shirtless or would you rather say hey I am girl and I am offended by his half nakedness " He started laughing at his own joke.I had no better comeback so I stick my tongue out." Sometimes I wonder if you are even a grown up,Gosh you are a kid ,look at you and your antics ," ,he said still smiling then he started caressing my hair slowly " You know what ? I am so damn angry with you right now ,but this hair makes me crazy and I will be punished to see you wear a boy cap and camaflouge it pchh what a shame princess," He slowly kissed my neck putting all my hair on one side.

I closed my eyes to hide my emotions he continued kissing my jaw." You smell divine I don't even know what to do with you most of the times ,yet I yearn for you ," he continued his assault on my neck making me tingly all over.I had to resist him so I opened my eyes ,and I said what I shouldn't have " Do you say these things to Aliya ,I am sure she would be happy for the repeat telecast anytime of the day and night " I told sarcasm dripping from my tone,he was the one who had so many secrets not me I don't really care now.

He scowled. He puffed . He scoffed .He growled. Ok not what I was expecting, even worse than that.I was intimidated.I looked at him through the mirror ,not a pleasant site.I continued with my hairdo and left for the class leaving him high and dry.

After going to the class we got to know all our classes were cancelled due to some strike and we were asked to spend all that time in gym and swimming pool ,that was a punishment for me and it was mandatory or else our attendance would be cut crazily.All the girls started whining ,all the boys started jumping I was left alone without any reaction except for sulking.Manik joined the boys and threw daggers at me.

After half day of gym sessions we all went to the pool and unfortunately were divided boys one pool and girls other pool oh goody! I am screwed ,this is the end of Nandan Murthy.I hesitantly looked at Manik he was beaming as he knew the ball was in his court.All the guys jumped into the pool.I was called by many of them to jump in.Manik jumped in smirking at me.I started fiddling with the hem of my dress.I was really nervous now.

" Nandan ,why don't you jump in the pool " I looked at those intense orbs ,he had no idea what he was saying.Dhruv supported him by shouting my name so did others.

" Sorry but I can't swim " I smiled nervously.

" Come on this end isn't even five ft deep,you need to get in " Dhruv started swimming towards other end after insisting me to join.Manik got out of the pool and came near me " You know you really need my help now ,otherwise you know the consequences,just say sorry to me and beg me that I should help you ,may be I can really help you" He winked at me pulling me towards the pool and looked at me with throwing the ultimatum. 

" Stop,you wouldn't do it as far as I know you aren't heartless I am sure you are messing up with me ,you first clearly mention your relationship with Aliya and then I will think about that s-o-r-r-y. " Before I could say anything else someone pushed me in the pool and since  Manik was holding my hand I pulled him along with me and we both were in the pool in matter of seconds ,I managed to get a glimpse of who did it and it was my arch nemesis Prithvi,I will probably dye his hair and teeth pink the next time I see him ,that thought made me happy but my current situation made me panic.

"Nandini don't worry we will straight away go to the room I will cover you,nobody is at this end now slowly get out of the pool I am right behind the you and you please try to be subtle ok" I did what he said and like he had said we reached our room with great difficulty as everyone were trying to stop us and get us in the pool ,today the bandana I was wearing on my head saved me I guess.Otherwise my hair would have gotten lose and I would be in jail by now.

" I am going to teach you a lesson ,just you wait you neanderthal,just you watch " I was fuming channeling all my frustration and anger towards that stupid jerk who pushed me.

" Go change I will go back to the pool and give them some excuse " he started walking back to the pool I stopped him " Manik, Thank you so much " this time giving him a genuine smile.
" You are welcome " he smiled back and left.

One good thing about this Afternoon was I got to take a nap when others were still out for the sake of attendance. I was fresh and in a cheery mood so talked to Naina and updated her with the latest news.

Manik came back to the room in the evening but not alone ,Aliya was with him.Not again just when I think I have taken two steps forward with this guy I have to take back four steps.Since I was in my Nandan attire she didn't even bother to look at me.She was touching Manik as if she owned him.Manik helplessly looked at me.I couldn't take it anymore I left the room closing it a bit too hard on my back.

So much for my happy mood.I met Dhruv on the way and he made me laugh with his stupid jokes ,for a moment I forgot about Manik but I still had that nagging feeling..Aliya and Manik together in that room alone..Gosh I couldn't even think about it.

My phone pinged 
"Where are you ? I need you , I have some history with her I will explain you everything please come back to our room she has already left,just give me a chance to explain I promise no more secrets " message from Manik for a moment put me on my toes back towards my room.But, I thought I should teach him a lesson so I decided to hang out with Dhruv for some more time.
