"Sir?"

I turned in my chair to face the man who barged in...oh. It was Welch. Our scout. He was the one responsible for finding the four.

"What is it, Welch?" I said, bored.

"We found Powell," he said, looking nervous.

This intrigued me. "Which one?"

"The formal scientist, sir. The one who had the electric child, sir," Welch said, rubbing his hands together, as if he was excited himself.

I nodded in approval. "Then bring him in here. I want to find the last four so I can figure out their powers. I bet Austin's kid is going to earn me millions."

"Yes sir. Springfield will arrive with him in a half hour," he said.

"Very well. Where's Tanner?" I asked.

"Still on the lookout with the soldiers, sir,"

"Well, any luck?" I asked, halfway expecting a negative reply.

"We're beginning to think that the four may actually attend the same school together. Better yet, we think we know where they are. I was thinking that we could lure them in to the academy by sending out flyers or pamphlets awarding them for their grades. Do you know anything about them, sir?" Welch asked.

"The boys play basketball together, I know that. The pretty one is a cheerleader, and the Hispanic one is extremely smart for her age," I said, then I scratched my head in thought. "I like your idea, Welch. Maybe I'll give you a vacation once we capture them. Print out a few pamphlets for Jamie, the smart one. That'll catch her attention, I'm sure."

"Yes sir," he said as he began to walk out.

Once he was gone, I turned back to the computer. "Yeah, and then we'll see where he hid that damned machine."

"Mom, what happened to Dad?" I said, getting scared.

"I-I'm not sure. But I'm coming home, because I have a bad idea of what happened. I don't have much time, and I need you to lock the doors, windows, everything, okay? And do not answer the door to anyone except me."

"Okay mom, I will," I said, and she hung up the phone without another word.

"What's going on?" Donovan asked, looking nervous.

"I have no idea, but we need to lock everything inside the house, now," I said, looking frantic as all of us spread out around the house, locking everything we could find.

We met back up inside my bedroom, which all of us were surprisingly able to fit on. We also tried to lighten the conversation about how we discovered our powers.

Donovan discovered his while throwing a baseball to his dad, when he accidentally threw a bolt of lightning instead of the ball that barely missed his dad by a few inches. He said that's when his dad told him about his special abilities. He thinks he was six at the time.

Jamie was constantly visiting the emergency room for always running a high fever all the time. After that eventually passed, she was playing in the yard one day when she about started a wildfire at eight years old for setting trees and bushes ablaze on accident. Her mother eventually told her about her powers, and taught her how to use them wisely.

Bailey didn't discover hers until fairly recently. She was twelve when she went up to her mother, asking her why everyone was so confused when they spoke to her. Her mom told her that she could do a special "spark," as she called it, in her eyes that when people saw it, it caused the brain to get confused and scramble the neurons around. Then her mom taught her how to do it. Jamie seemed to get a little jealous at that, but she never said anything of it.
