Summary: In which Shawn tries to impress you by reading your favorite book.

"Shawn where on earth–" Brian stopped himself as he narrowed his eyes at his friend the moment he entered the tour bus. When he went out looking for him to ask if he wants to go out with the guys and stroll around the city, Brian wasn't expecting to see Shawn in this exact predicament.

Shawn didn't even bother to look up at the sound of his best friend's voice, too engrossed in what he was doing to pay him even a second of his attention.

"Are you reading–" Brian walked closer to Shawn, and sure enough, what he saw in the hands of the curly boy, definitely surprised him.

"–a book?"

Shawn let out a sigh of annoyance, looking up for a quick second to shoot Brian a warning glare before burying his face back between the pages.

"Dude–"

"Bri, I'm trying to read here, can you like be quiet?" Shawn snapped, finally putting the book down to look at his friend with a serious look on his face, completely annoyed by the disturbance because he was already getting to the good part.

"But bro, you don't read." Brian pointed out the obvious, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, because it was true, Shawn never reads.

Well, he's tried plenty of times but he always get's bored just a few pages in, and too see him almost halfway through a big book, was a completely and utter shock, makes Brian wonder if the book is actually that good, or is there some other reason.

"Well, I do now so shut it." Shawn sassed, going back to his business as he lifted the book up to completely cover his face, the title now in complete view to Brian.

"Wait, is that, (Y/N)'s favorite book?"

Shawn felt his cheeks heat up, knowing that he's been caught red handed, chewing on the insides of his cheeks as he avoided Brian's teasing stare, his friend letting out a loud laugh at the reaction of the boy.

Shawn didn't say anything to anybody since he wasn't one to broadcast his feelings to people unnecessarily but who was he kidding, it was already so obvious that he has a huge crush on you.

You, who happens to be his personal assistant.

He's tried so hard to catch your attention, but if you weren't busy, you were inside your own little bubble, face buried in a book. And of course he's also tried to flirt with you a couple of times but you only roll your eyes at him in response, telling him that you're here to work, and that you won't fall into his silly games.

Which definitely isn't the case at all, you weren't just a game to him. When he has actually stopped denying what he actually feels for you, he knows that this was something more.

But then again, Shawn can't really blame you either. Being his assistant, of course you've seen his casual hook ups here and there.

Though Shawn has admitted what he feels for you a couple times already, and he knows you feel the same way too, well, you're body language just says it all, but you've always turned him down, told him you'd spare yourself the heartbreak.

Your words, not his.

So Shawn thought, what better way to finally make you see that he really is into you, and that this wasn't just a casual fling to him, by reading your favorite book? You know fully well how he never reads books, surely when you see him invest a lot of time to read your favorite book, that'll impress you right?
