Chapter Six: Meeting The Alphas

 After a while, Rosepaw and her friends had been able to identify a couple of species included in this massive grouping of animals. Kitsunes, which was what Mae was, Tanukis, which were dog-raccoons that were extremely mischievous shapeshifters, and they had spotted Cerberus, the three-headed dog and his brother, Othrus, the guardian of the gates. They were puzzled by a pool, not far from where they were, as it was filled with what seemed like mermaids. Their thoughts were interrupted by Ave shouting, "Everyone now has permission to disperse, on one condition, you do not leave the area." Rosepaw and the rest headed to the pool, trying to figure out what they were."Rosepaw, could you come over here?" Called Devlyn. "Sorry, I'll be right back," Rosepaw said to the others. Rosepaw followed Devlyn, Ave, and Mae into the palace. Inside the palace, there was a huge ceiling that was glass and let moonlight into the main room. In a meeting room is where they found the queen. "Mother, here they are," Mae said. The room was fairly simple, with a table and five stools that looked as if they were made out of stone. "Welcome! Please, come in and take a seat!" The queen was more excitable than Rosepaw expected, but she could tell that the queen was not always like this. "What is the problem?" asked Ave, "Well, about two days ago, the Tigers somehow gained control of my son, Vincent's Star Ball, and he has suffered pain and has attacked a couple of werewolves." Said the queen. "If you don't mind me asking, what is a Star Ball?" asked Devlyn. "It is the most prized possession of a kitsune and it being stolen means that he has lost all control over himself and that whoever has the ball controls him, so Xarr could be controlling him and using him to take over." Replied Mae. Rosepaw whispered to Ave, "Who is Xarr?" "The leader of the tigers" Ave whispered back. "oh ok." "I see she is new." said the queen. Rosepaw looked up from her paws at the queen. The queen was a brilliant blue, same as Mae, with a distinct white diamond on her forehead, and three tails. "Um, yes, I'm Rosepaw, your majesty." "Well, I hope you are enjoying it here, I'm Moonaia, if you didn't know." Rosepaw nodded, wondering how Moonaia knew. "Well, back to the point, we have the werewolves monthly transformation tomorrow, and we think that our camp might be infiltrated then, as most of the Queendom go with them into the woods. We would like some reinforcement to help out Orthrus and Cerberus." "I'll set up posts." Said Devlyn. "Great, now, food, what will we feed everyone?" asked Ave. "Don't worry about food, we will have more than plenty tonight," replied Moonaia. They walked out of the meeting room back into the main room then out the door. Rosepaw ran over to Rela, Dia, and Emerald who were still at the pool, talking to the mermaid-like creatures. "Hi! I'm back!" said Rosepaw. "Hey! This is Celie, apparently, she's a were mermaid!" said Dia in an excited tone."Cool! How exactly does that work?" asked Rosepaw. "When I transform, I turn into a wolf and leave the water." Replied Celie with a slightly scratchy voice. "What are the other creatures here? I know Cerberus and Orthrus, and the Kitsunes," said Emerald. "Well, there are the Bayne Wolves, those shaggy wolves over there." Celie pointed to a group of tall, shaggy wolf-like animals. They were arranged in a vast array of colors. "There is also Sha, She is good to know if you need a favor if you know what I mean."She looked over at a tall, black greyhound-like animal. "Over there is the Aralez and Enfield packs of this area. Basically the same thing, but different colors and the Aralez can heal wounds by licking them clean. You can meet the Alphas, Hey, Ekamu! Zephra!" called Celie. Two winged wolves came over one sulking, the other trotting. The one trotting was the smaller of the two. The bigger one was a bold red and brown, while the smaller one was a reflective white and silver. "Yes Celie, what was so important that we were pulled out of a meeting, a meeting for your kind?" said the smaller, white one. "Yes, I pray, do tell us, I for one, am quite interested." said the red one. "I would like you to meet these Inx that have just come, I do believe that you will find them fascinating." replied Celie, "This is Rosepaw, Rela, Dia, and Emerald." "I hope you enjoy it here while you can, I'm Zephra, the Aralez Alpha." said the red one. "Yes, enjoy it while you can." said the white one. "Oh Ekamu, don't creep them out!" scolded Zephra. "He's the Alpha of the Enfields." "Yes, I'm sure they figured that out. By the way, If you don't mind me asking, what is that around your neck Rosepaw?" "Ummm", Rosepaw thought, honestly Ekamu was kinda creepy, and she wasn't sure what to say. After all, It seemed to be one-of-a-kind. "I'm honestly not sure what it does, but I'd rather not take it off," Rosepaw said at last. "I see. Well, that necklace of yours is mighty rare." replied the Enfield alpha. "Now, we must get back to the meeting, otherwise you will be running alone, Celie." The two alphas walked back to where they were meeting. "Oh! How could I forget! Rosepaw, I got to show you something. See you later!" said Rela. Rosepaw found herself being pulled over to Ave, who was talking to Moonaia, Mae, Devlyn, and Avner. Ave seemed to be scolding Avner, but that is beside the point. "Hey, commander! I just realized! Rosepaw needs her flying lesson!" shouted Rela. "Oh! yes of course! Get together a couple others, I'll be right there." responded Ave. Once again, Rosepaw found herself being dragged, this time over to the pool. "Wanna help out in Rosepaw's flying lesson?" "Oh, Sure!" said Dia. "I'd love to help!" said Emerald. "See ya Celie!" shouted Rela as the Rosepaw, Emerald, and Dia were pulled by Rela over to a hidden courtyard on the side of the castle.
