I didn't leave to go the apartment immediately. I drove to a fast food place and got something small to eat from the dollar menu. I sat in the parking lot and started eating, but ate fast, too fast. I started hiccupping so much that I had to fish out a bottle of water, probably a week old and warm, but I couldn't buy another. I drank it all at once to stop the hiccups, and luckily it worked. I finished quickly and then put the trash on the passenger seat next to me.
I started following the directions that Google gave me, using up all my 200mb of data. I didn't mind though, because I needed to use it. Just then, I realized my internet hub that I paid for was left there, making me panic. Luckily my phone had a lot of minutes so I could call them tomorrow, get that one cancelled, then hopefully get another hub for the apartment. One thing that did excite me was that I could use it without it being slow because my parents also liked to use it.
I found it eventually and stopped, gazing up at it. It was immensely posh, and had five floors, each floors incredibly wide. I slowly got out and walked over to the building, smiling and handing my ID to the guard. He had it scanned then gave it back and nodded. "Would you like any help moving things in ma'am?"
I bit my lip and nodded a little. "Yes please."
He smiled and pressed record on the security cameras then helped me carry up all my furniture and boxes, then politely left. Since my couch wasn't dismantled I locked my car and the front door, then fell straight asleep on it.
The following morning I slept in since I woke up at 3 at night and got an email telling me I could have the next three days off work and still be paid. From then on I would work 8am-5pm from Tuesday to Saturday, at $4.5 per hour. Before I worked the same hours for $2.5. It made me happy that I also no longer had bills for two months also, and that I knew I'd work twice as hard to get another small promotion so I could pay the rent.
When I finally awoke, I went straight out to Food City to get food for the next week, then came back and started putting together all of my furniture. To my fortune, the apartment came with a really good fridge, a separate freezer, counter-tops and cabinets, and a large oven so I didn't need to worry about buying one. Obviously I couldn't have lugged our own at home with me.
It took entire day to put together half of the furniture, mainly because I had to keep searching through boxes to find wrenches and screws, so two days in total to build it all. But when it was all done, I was happy because it looked beautiful.
However, after the first day of building and getting everything sorted out, I texted my brother about what was going on.
