Soyeon
Are you not coming to algebra today?

Soyeon
I need help with some problems, where are you?

Soyeon
Are you okay?

Soyeon
Jaemin, are you mad about this morning?

Soyeon put down her phone so the teacher wouldn't see her and leaned back in her chair, running her fingers through her hair. Never once had she been the girl to text a guy that many times, but she was worried about Jaemin and the fact that she was most likely the reason he wasn't in class.

Jaemin
I had a headache, went to the nurse. Don't miss me too much, okay?;)

Soyeon looked down at the phone and sighed, biting her lip. She raised her hand and the teacher turned her attention to the back of the room, calling on Soyeon.

"Can I go to the nurse?" she asked. "My head hurts."

The teacher nodded and wrote up a pass while Soyeon packed up her things. She walked down to the nurse's office, her stomach knotting itself more and more as she made her way there.

She walked in and looked around, not seeing any sign of Jaemin. She pursed her lips as the nurse looked up at her. "Can I help you?" the nurse asked.

"Oh, sorry, I thought my friend was in here," Soyeon answered with a smile. "My bad."

She left the nurse's office and pulled out her phone, dialing Jaemin's number as she found an empty hallway to call him in. He answered on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"Jaemin, where are you?"

"I told you where I am. Why are you on the phone in algebra?"

"I'm not in algebra. And you're not in the nurse. Where are you?"

There was a silence on the other end and then Jaemin chuckled.

"Wait, did you come looking for me in the nurse's office?"

"Just tell me where you are."

"You really need to make up your mind, Soyeon. I'm in the basement."

"There's a basement?"

He chuckled again.

"I'll come find you."

He hung up the phone and Soyeon walked back to the nurse's office, waiting outside for a few minutes before Jaemin approached her, a small smirk on his face.

"I told you not to miss me too much," he said.

"Shut up. Why are you cutting class?"

"Why are you cutting class?" Jaemin asked in return, standing so close to her she could feel his breath on her. She swallowed and pushed him away.

"Show me the basement," she demanded.

"There's my feisty queen," he smiled before walking down the hallway. She followed him aimlessly, biting her lip.

"If this is because of what I said this morning, I'm sorry," Soyeon said, gesturing to him cutting class.

"And if it's not?" he replied, not looking back at her.

"I'm still sorry."

Jaemin stopped and turned around to look at her, sighing. "Me too," he said. "I'm sorry I was so quick to throw my feelings at you. But don't worry, I'm over it. I'm over this. We're just two pals hanging out now."

He smiled through gritted teeth, hating every word that was coming out of his mouth. He spun around and continued walking, Soyeon suddenly feeling dizzy.

She continued to follow him as he led her down the hallway and down a flight of stairs she didn't know existed. Soon enough they were in a creepy room with no lights, and Jaemin was putting his phone flashlight in the middle of the room to provide light.

He sat on one side and she sat across from him.
Soyeon sighed, licking her lips. "You're pissed," she said. Jaemin looked up at her and shrugged.

"And what would I be pissed about?" he asked, his eyebrow cocked.

"That I led you on."

"Ohhh, right, yeah I forgot about that."

Soyeon bit her lip again and looked down at her lap. She shook her head. "Look, Jaemin, I'm not trying to be a dick but I just—,"

"Don't know what you want?" Jaemin cut her off. "Yeah, I can see that."

"You don't have to be such a douche about it," Soyeon replied.

"But isn't that what I'm best at?" he asked sarcastically. "That is what you seem to think."

"Jaemin, stop. That's not what I think."

"Is that not what you've said so many times? That I'm a douchebag and annoying?" he asked again.

"I didn't mean—,"

"What did you mean?" Jaemin cut her off again. Soyeon felt tears begin to well up in her eyes. "Because I can't seem to get anything else from those statements."

Soyeon stood up, not wanting to sit around so Jaemin could watch her cry. "I'm going back upstairs," she choked out. He heard the hoarseness in her voice and when she turned around, he stood up and grabbed her arm, spinning her to face him.

She gasped in surprise, her hands on his chest as she stopped herself from colliding with him any further. He held her shoulders and looked down at her, clearly not intending to let her go any time soon.

"Look at me," he told her. When she continued to stare at his chest, he pressed a hand to her cheek, tilting her face up. A tear fell from her eye and he quickly wiped it away. "I lied," he whispered. "It's kind of hard to forget something that's in your blood. You're like an addiction. I don't ever want to be the reason for your tears."

Soyeon looked up at him, her heart racing as her breaths came out in pieces. "Kiss me," she breathed. Jaemin's breath stopped at the sound of her words, but responded fairly quickly.

He cupped her cheek with the other hand as well and leaned down, their noses touching like they had on vacation. Soyeon closed her eyes when they were close enough, though Jaemin kept his open, wanting to see her. Their lips met and Soyeon's hands found the edges of Jaemin's sweatshirt pocket, looking for something to grip.

A shock was sent through her, down her spine and to her toes, making her shiver slightly. She pulled away to take a breath, Jaemin licking his lips as he took his own breath.

"You still regret the conversation we had last night?" Jaemin asked. She shook her head.

"You still mad about what I said this morning?" Soyeon asked. He shook his head.

"Let's date," Jaemin told her. "We can take it slow, but I want you all to myself."

Soyeon stared at him for a few seconds before nodding. "Okay."
